  • SAHM here. Up and down. Kiddo starts back at school in a few weeks that gives me a bit more free time to get to the gym and exercise more like i should. Also I'm on gabapentin which is basically between the fibro and PCOS feels like a full stall. :/
  • congrats on the sobriety. it's never an easy journey. i was never addicted to alcohol, but i was addicted to food. it was my immediate go to whenever something was happening that i didn't want to cope with. unlike alcohol, i cannot cut food out of my life completely, so i still work with it every day to keep my head on…
  • Get a good support system and put one foot in front of the other. It's one pound at a time. Smaller goals are easier to achieve than being overwhelmed by one larger number, at least that's been my experience. I'm down 160 lbs, but I keep looking at the 20 in front of me.
  • Hello. I'm 5'5. I was banded in 2011. HW 372 (recorded) SW 336 LW 220 CW 245 I got down to 220, but made the mistake of starting gabapentin for pain. I'll deal with the pain. I'm NOT happy with the weight regain. Considering a revision to VSG, but the doc doesn't think it would help me overly much since I'm still losing…
  • looking to leave it as well. i have 25 lbs to go to hit onederland, which i haven't seen two decades.
  • i've lost 175 pounds so far. i still have another 80 to go. excess skin is going to be a problem and i'll need plastic surgery to remove it. i've lost it slowly over the course of five years. maybe it's my age because i'm quite a bit older than you, but i'm going to need plastic surgery to get rid of the excess skin when i…

  • i introduced the vitamins when i went back to foods. up until then the shakes were enough with the vitamins.
  • i weigh myself once a day only so i can see the trends and avoid discouragement :) water can play a huge role in how much you've gained or lost in a day. also make sure you're weighing yourself at the same time every day. if you weigh yourself at 5am one day and 10am another, it can throw it off accuracy.

  • log everything you eat and be honest with yourself. if you're afraid you're going to lie about what you've eaten, put the diary private so only you see, but log your food and weigh/measure everything. we often don't realize how big a serving is until we measure it.
  • i hear that. a favorite that i enjoyed, until i realized its calorie count. 1600 for a single meal, so it's no longer indulged. tis a shame. i really enjoyed it once in a blue moon, but that's more than my daily calorie allotment.
  • i add "quick count calories" to get myself over the 1k mark so i can get it to record it. that way it doesn't throw off my macros because it only counts the calories.
  • i try to simply because on lose grains and oats, using a cup vs the weight of actual grams makes for very different amounts and you end up consuming a lot more calories than you think you do.
  • would also be interested in this as well :)
  • tuna melts are good, i also will eat it on a salad by mixing a little dijon mustard and a bit of plain yogurt, sometimes with a dab of honey depending on how i'm eating it. it tastes great that way too, especially mixed with a bit of onion and dill.
  • If my husband stopped buying chocolate, I'd be offended because that's telling me that he doesn't think that I have the willpower to moderate my chocolate intake, which I do. edit: that said, i told him i didn't want chocolate, but tickets for us to go see Deadpool.

  • i'm 5'5. if i went strictly by BMI, my weight should be at 125. that ain't going to happen. i'd be thrilled to hit 160 goal though. that's my personal goal.
  • any specifics you'd recommend?
  • lol glad to see i'm not the only one who went there :)

  • i have several meals i make to break up the potential monotony of eggs. one uses packet of regular oatmeal mixed with half a cup of skim milk (not water). 1/4 cup of fresh blueberries, 1/4 cup of fresh raspberries, and a tablespoon of chopped pecans to give it a texture and a bit of crunch. i also make blueberry parfaits…
  • depends on what you mean by not a lot of time. are you asking for quick things to cook or items you can just grab and go? i scramble up eggs with goat cheese, asparagus and smoked salmon. great protein filler and not high in calories. but it take about three to four minutes to cook.
  • go under your dashboard and look on your profile (it will be the face in the upper right hand corner. it will bring you to your profile and you can paste the URL from there. https://www.fitbit.com/user/3872LD btw :)
  • motivation to every person is different. you have to figure out why specifically you want to make a change. for me, the first time i lost 140 pounds, it was because i wanted to have a healthy baby. i ended up going into machine mode and spending fifteen hours a week at the gym heh. can't do that go around this time. have a…

  • back in the day i always accused my being large on the fact that i had "a slow metabolism," which is hysterical to me now. a few years ago i came across a receipt that i still had in my pocket of my coat. it was from mcdonalds and was my lunch the day i was at work. a big mac value meal, a crispy chicken wrap, a double…
