Hey everyone! Just curious as to how many of you are addicts or alcoholics (sober or not). After I got sober, I gained so much weight and I’m ready to lose it to better myself. What’s your story?k4uzaahy2jfq.jpeg

    ODAT

Urban Dictionary says ODAT means "Biggest hippie on earth" and I have no idea what anything means anymore.

I have had issues in the past - I was prescribed some strong codeine based pain killers after an accident, it was so easy to just take a few and feel the calm wash over me, but I absolutely hated how dependant I became on them, its still a big thing for me. When I have problems with my back they always give me the same pain relief as I cant take the anti inflammatory medication.

congrats on the sobriety. it's never an easy journey. i was never addicted to alcohol, but i was addicted to food. it was my immediate go to whenever something was happening that i didn't want to cope with. unlike alcohol, i cannot cut food out of my life completely, so i still work with it every day to keep my head on track.

I'm presently in recovery myself. I was a functional alcoholic for 5 years and now I find myself being tempted to reach oblivion when I'm stressed. It was always my go-to when I wanted to "disappear" for awhile from reality. Congrats to you on your sobriety! It's a hard road and I applaud you.
