I love tempeh!! I first steam it for 10-15 minutes, cut it in triangles or strips and marinate it in homemade sauce (similar to a bbq sauce) - when ready to eat, I pan fry it until golden brown/crispy. Some people omit the steaming step above, but I have not tried that. You could also coat it in a dry rub and pan fry it or…

just like with any other diet: prep and plan in advance so you are not stuck eating convenience foods. I personally use the food processor a lot, to make big batch of hummus, falafel, etc. I also use the slow cooker to make lentil soups, chili, etc. A smoothie or oatmeal in the morning takes a minute to make. A salad does…

That's just inappropriate. She should not be commenting on your weight. I do not have any advice for you other than just brush it off and try to avoid the topic with her.

Here is a sample menu with the breakdown of protein grams. You would be suprised at how much protein and calcium a person can get from a plant based meals. http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/protein.php For calcium see: http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/calcium.php

Have you tried sunflower seed butter? I love that stuff!

i am not having that issue this time, breastfeeding a 3 months old. I eat a lot of caloric dense foods (nuts or seed butters, dried fruits, avocados, varied homemade snacks made with coconut oil, dates, nuts/seeds, etc), and I am vegan and exercise quite a bit. You can add me if you want and check my diary. How old is your…

Every day is a new day. Stop dwelling on what you ate yesterday or at Thanksgiving. Do what you need to do for today. Plan for tomorrow. Maybe it is time to work on your mental flexibility. When you have a problem, brainstorm at least 5 possible solutions. Think about what the potential positive and negative results of…

I try... B) Last weekend I made lasagna and shepherds pie. I prepped same veggies for both dishes and put both in the oven at the same time. We ate a serving of the lasagna and froze the rest, we still have leftovers of both meals. Today or tomorrow I will make individual pizzas (just dough and sauce) and pre-bake it then…

I think it depends on your diet and your needs. My doctor prescribed multivitamins to me, they have all what I need. Otherwise I would supplement with vitamin D (especially during the winter months) and B-12.

Welcome to the group! I have been vegan for 1.5 years approx, for ethical reasons too, but there are a lot of health benefits as well. Feel free to add me.

I am having a sweet tooth lately as well. I have been getting the semi-sweet chocolate morsels (the ones you use for baking), the ones I buy are vegan but they add up a lot of calories to my day! and it is hard to stop after just eating a handful... My scale isn't moving lately, so I know how frustrating it can be. I'll…

Hi, I am a mother of 2 (almost 3 years old and 3 month baby) - I recently joined a gym and I am trying to work out as often as I can - I will be going back to work soon so I know it will be extra challenging to find time for myself. I cook mostly during the weekends and make quick meals during the week.
