  • Yes, for sure. I eat McD once a week for sure, sometimes twice. I eat a small snack of Doritos or similar chips every night, and I still lost 30 lbs. It's all about total calories for the day and for me what worked was weighing out 50g of chips so I don't overeat those high cal items.
  • Started at about 190, I'm shooting for 159 because that puts me in the healthy BMI range. I'm at 164 now (almost 7 months into this). Ultimately I plan to be more like 150 probably when I'm done. My main goal really is to just be at a healthier weight. My advice is don't stress about a particular number. Be in the healthy…
  • I've lost 23 lbs in just under 6 months. It's getting harder but I'm only 7 lbs away from my goal weight (to be in the healthy BMI range). Trying to lose 4 lbs in a few days won't work, be realistic. And really, what does it matter anyway? Most people gain weight on holidays. Just make up for it when you are back on your…
  • I'm in the 30 lbs club too. I have been doing this for just under 6 months and I'm down 23 lbs. It's getting a bit tougher these days, best advice is to count calories correctly (be honest), don't cut foods out, just cut portion size if you gotta have it still. And don't give yourself a set time to meet your goal.
  • jmarcee, it's those three words .com I don't know why they'd put a religious spin on it, I guess it's just to get more suckers into it. Or so they can be welcomed into churches to peddle their stuff.
  • P90x is more of an exercise program than weight loss program. How long have you been at a plateau?
  • I find no value in that prediction. If it took my last 7 days' calories into account each day I would believe it more. Honestly I would be fine if MFP just removed that "feature" altogether.
  • Sure, you can lose if you keep your diet the same but also exercise enough to have a calorie deficit. But in the end it's the calorie count that is making you lose weight, not the exercise. Do you understand the difference?
  • If I was you, I'd remove any thoughts of a particular date, it's just added stress. I have a goal, it's my ideal weight. I don't care how long it takes me to get there. 6 months, a year, it doesn't matter as long as I keep with the program.
  • #1 thing to do is weigh, measure, and log everything you eat and drink. Everything. And, stay in a calorie deficit.
  • I recommend you pray instead of counting calories.
  • Since I've started logging everything I've done really well. Prior to that my crack addiction was Zesty Cheese Doritos. I still eat them daily but only 50g weighed out, if I have calories left in the evening. Otherwise I eat 40g if that's all I can consume to stay under my calorie limit.
  • Somebody should lock this thread 'til the OP starts using a food scale for everything.
  • Every day, same time. I've only been at this 11 days so I want to know and see the daily fluctuations. I'm still hooked on the app so I don't mind at all. Weird but two days ago I was 0.5 pound heavier than the day before, yesterday was no change, and today was 1.5 pound lighter than yesterday. Tomorrow I might back be up…
  • ACV is great at getting rid of warts when nothing else works. I wouldn't think of consuming it, however.
  • You look great and your BMI is good, there really is no need to lose anymore weight for health reasons. If I was you, I'd just be happy to be in the normal range for BMI and just do what you can. Really watch the calories if you cannot continue to exercise.
