I was super consistent and motivated when I started last fall, but this summer has been FUBAR. Looking to get back on it and would love some similarly-focused new friends!

My fitbit is only a few weeks old too and I'm still figuring it all out.

Not 100% sure this is correct, but it looks like you exceeded your 3500 cal deficit goal by that amount?

Thinking of hiking rattlesnake ridge tomorrow around 9 o r 10 of anyone is interested. Send me a pm if so and we can decide on a time and meeting place

Regarding spm, do what is comfortable for you, at least in the beginning until you get comfortable with the mechanics of the stroke. I too have only used the Concept2, but the stroke should be the same regardless. Concept2 has a lot of great resources on their website for newbies and I highly recommend checking them out.…

@jneen29 I haven't done that one before, but it looks beautiful! I have a friend who is going to be in town, but if it works with our plans and the weather is decent I would love to meet up. :)

i'm 5'8" and was pushing the upper limits of an 8 at 160 lbs. 150 now and somewhere between a 6 and an 8...wanting to lose a little more to get out of this "somewhere in the middle" phase

i have to agree with Zebster...they need to want to get healthy themselves to be open to any sort of external motivation. i've seen friends/family with health issues who in spite of knowing they need make changes in diet/exercise and even going so far as to buy a treadmill or join a gym, never followed through. you can be…

guessing my profile pic answers that one...but i just have the one. she's an 8 year old grey tabby that loves nothing more than to curl up on me and go to sleep

Anyone noticing some weird data with your calories burned/projected calories being transferred from the misfit app? my daily calories look correct in the misfit app, but then only transfer over as a very small percentage (i.e. the misfit app say i have burned 1193 cal so far today, but MFP picks it up as 55 cal?)

@dbienz congrats on your half! and awesome to hear you felt so good during/after! i'm stuck at work all day today, and my coworker is badgering me into going rollerblading with her tomorrow. neither of us has been in YEARS and i fully expect to injure myself lol we're going at noon, so i don't know if that leaves enough…

10k row

i get a burn between 250 - 270 on a 5k row on my rowing machine (depending on my actual time and intensity). usually that means anywhere from 24 - 26 minutes. there is an algorithm programmed in that gives a calorie burn amount and then a calculator on their website to adjust for weight, etc. i still generally round down…

it looks like the weather might even actually be decent for it tomorrow...@dbienz i'm in if you are! what time works for you? i am free all day
-
I could also do tomorrow, if anyone is interested. Random day off. :)

so, i WILL be in town the 11/12th. would people be able to do a sunday hike that weekend?
-
absolutely! sure, i've thought about what it might be like to be under 140. i was between 135-140 as a high school athlete and then bulked up to about 160 my freshman year of college. after my days as a competitive athlete came to an end, i settled back down around 145, which has looked both lean and not so lean on me…

i can't do saturdays typically, but may be out of town that weekend anyway. i'll know hopefully today or tomorrow.
-
^^ this i was an athlete for years back in school and while i've managed to gather some fluff in recent years, i feel like i've held onto a fairly solid frame. i feel good around 140-145 and i think trying to go lower is going to take a TON of work for me to do and maintain. also, i figure i'm healthy where i am i just…

5'8" and 149 at the moment. highest a year ago was 163. started MFP in the fall at 152 and wanting to be down between 140-145
-
my high point last spring was 163. started on MFP in the fall at 152. it took me 6 months to lose those first 11 lbs and i'm only down another 3 since. slow going, for sure. shooting for about 145, maybe 140. consistency with working out and eating right is the only way i know, riding out the bumps and trying not to let…

@dbienz are you still planning on doing poo poo point tomorrow at 2 or 3? Anyone else planning on going in the afternoon? I see @PNW_livin isn't going to make it at that time and wasn’t sure if I would be the only one to show up. :)

i find that i don't drink anywhere near as much water as i should be drinking either. i've been trying to keep a water bottle (32oz) with me at home and work. we have a water dispenser at work and i try to drink one bottle while i'm there and fill up to have one for at home until i get back the next day. some days i do…
