I don't have any proper before pictures in gym wear or anything, but I have this one I took of my outfit to show my sister last week! I started exercising just over a week ago and started logging food consistently the past few days. Started at 171lbs and I'm 38 years old. Definitely up for a challenge!

In 2012 I lost a lot of weight (well about 50lbs, people's idea of a lot would vary) and part if what I did was cut out most processed sugar. It excelled my weight loss, it prevented my stomach bloating and my skin was far better. However, I put the weight back on and had a few babies since then and in those pregnancies I…

I've been on different SSRI's before. One made me loose weight quickly as I felt nauseous on it. One made weight loss slow just because I was eating better without anxiety causing me to not eat. None of them should make you gain weight, but they can affect appetite which shouldn't cause an issue if you're mindful of it.

Try getting a water bottle that you really love and aim to just drink a small bit a day to begin with maybe. Every few weeks or so you can increase what you're drinking. Try flavoured water too.

Mines open to friends. Feel free to add me.

I have the whole of my old wardrobe waiting to be worn again. I need to drop about 3 dress sizes to get there.

A couple of hundred calories more isn't too bad, so that's good to know. Regards unhealthy, he currently eats whatever I make for dinner, but the rest of his diet is crisps, cake, sweets, takeaways. So I guess I mean just how do we keep his calories high without him overdoing those things, as obviously those should be more…

Oh right, ok 🙂 going by that I need to eat quite a bit more protein then!

My scales give a muscle mass (I know it's not going to be accurate), so I could use that as an estimate for lean mass?
-
Hadn't thought of them as I don't really know anything about them. I'll look into it
-
What sort of protein intake is good? I don't usually get much, have been working on increasing it, but I'm still often a little below the 20% that mfp recommends as standard.

Same here, had just popped into the community to check if anyone else was having the same problem.

Look at progress pictures to keep motivation up. You have to decide you want to be healthy or slim more than you want to party and eat lots. If you know you're going to be a bit excessive with food or drink then do lots of exercise prior to the event to earn it.

I'm 5' 3 lost 13lbs and want to lose another 20 to 30lbs

At Christmas we usually go all out, 2 birthdays in the house too I'm December. Mostly I'd say to exercise more or eat less other days that week to make up for a day your likely to go over, but Christmas I don't intend to be logging. It's a couple of days and as long as you're reasonably mindful (for example eat a big…

I've never heard of Cadbury spread and I live quite near to the Cadbury factory! Sounds nice though
-
I actually feel better eating clean, but it's a lot if effort with a fussy family and my work/life balance so I'm settling for junk instead mostly!

I work at McDonald's. Nobody goes for the salads, I've only seen one being ordered in the last month. Maybe only go there if you've done enough exercise first to easily justify the calories, get diet drinks or coffee instead of sugary drinks and swap fries for a fruit bag.

I have the fitbit blaze. I like it, it does lots of stuff, syncs nicely with myfitnesspal and I have friends and family who use them too which is nice for competition. As someone else mentioned, it's a bit chunky. I've had problems with fitbit straps not lasting in the past, but this has a removable strap so it's easy to…

I get married the end of July

41 blueberry muffins

I eat back exercise and fitbit calories, I still lose just fine. I have mfp set to sedentary and allow fitbit to subtract calories as well as add them.

West Midlands here

Not far from Birmingham myself, feel free to add me, I'm always on the look out for more friends

There's plenty of people who have lost and kept it off. Go look at the success stories on here.

Eating back exercise calories has always worked for me. I'm only short so I have very few calories if I don't exercise to get more calories.
-
UK 14, want to get down to a 8-10. I've been that weight before and feel most happy with my weight there. Bought a too small wedding dress for motivation, I have until July!

I'm always happy to have new friends, most of mine seem a bit quiet at the moment.
