  • Congratulations on you awesome progress 🎉. You are well on your way to the “best” you.
  • Today my menu is coffee with my favorite flavored creamer. Lunch: Homemade chicken chili hot dog. Dinner: New York Steak with a dry baked potato. Dessert: Sugar free chocolate pudding (made with almond milk) and a dash of whipping cream. Total calories: 1114
  • How many servings?
  • Hummus, lots of fresh veggies and pita chips
  • Sounds like you are in need of crunch. I sometimes eat carrots, bell peppers and celery with hummus for my afternoon snack. Also, make sure you are eating enough protein at lunchtime that way you will feel satisfied longer. At least it does for me. Hope this helps.
  • Me too for the last few weeks. I hate it!
  • Yep, 72 pounds with very little exercise. The key is the calories in vs. calories used. You can do it!
  • I love topping my white fish with homemade pesto. I use very little oil in my recipe.
  • My kryptonite is See's candy. I can eat the whole box of nuts and chews in one sitting. My friend just gave me a box as a gift....it is sitting in my freezer untouched. The sad thing is I can hear it calling my name. I think I will put in ear plugs.
  • I plan on counting calories (weighing my food) for the rest of my life. If I don't I will end up back where I started. It is just to easy to play those tricks with myself.
  • I love the idea of lightning a candle. It will make it more special. One thing I do is try to remember to put my fork down after every bite. This helps me eat slower and helps me taste what I am eating. I have a tendency to eat very fast.
  • This looks really good. Can't wait to make it. Number of servings/calories per serving?
  • Thank you so much. I have been having such a hard time cooking brown rice. I will definitely give this a try!!!
  • I baked it in the oven.
  • I just made baked cod with ratatouille. I cooked eggplant, zucchini, bell pepper, cerlry, onion, and garlic in a very small bit of olive oil. Added tomato paste and tomato sauce and simmered. After fish was done ladled ratatouille over the fish. Tasted like I had slaved for hours.
  • First you need to get in the right frame of mind to succeed. Without that nothing we say or advice and encouragement we give will get you to your goal. I had to really think about what it was I really wanted....I chose to lose weight. Also being realistic with weight loss goals and exercise was very important aspects of my…
  • WOW!!! You look fantastic. You are an inspiration to us all. Thank you for sharing your pictures.
  • Sounds interesting. Do you have a recipe to follow? What about calories?
  • I think for a lot of us we have trained our minds to think of food when we watch TV. How many of us watch TV while eating a meal? I for one can not go to the movie theater without getting a big order of popcorn. So what do I do....I don't go to the movies anymore. Is it possible to retrain our minds? I think the answer is…
  • Pick yourself up and dust yourself off and move forward. Put one step in front of the other to get to your weight loss goals. Remember no one is perfect. There will be times when temptation gets the best of any of us. What one does before and/or after the binge fact will make the difference. The choice is yours to make???
  • Sandra: are you sure you are taking in enough calories? MFP suggested I eat only 1200 calories also. I could not do it so I choose to up to 1325. That helped me tremendously and I no longer feel hungry. Also is your food diary open for us to look at to see if we spot something that is loaded with salt? Beth
  • I'm right there with you. It appears that I have stalled or the best at a snails pace. I know and keep reminding myself that this is normal. The upside to the slowwwwww pace is it will help cement in my brain all that I have learned from this journey to move forward into maintenance.
  • Well, my Monday is winding down for me. Thank goodness. I have been absent for a few days because of work. Welcome to all who is new! Got in my walking today. Logged all my food. Yea! Hope everyone is having a great day. Beth
  • LeslieinOC: It sounds like your up coming hike in the Grand Canyon will be great fun. Spring time should be beautiful and cooler than later in the year. When I lived out west in So. California I visited there many times but never hiked it. We live in Maine so we have been section hiking the AT in Maine or New Hampshire.…
  • Happy Tuesday everyone. Just checking in to see how everyone is doing? Are you on point with your goals or have you run into some snags? Let's share and give encouragement or praise where it is needed or deserved. My goal this month is to exercise 3-4 times per week. So far I am on point! Beth
  • JB: Remember to just put one step in front of the other in the right direction and you shall succeed, no matter how small.
  • MsDonaB: Glad you found our group. Thanking care of yourself is the most important thing you can do to help yourself and your husband. I'm sorry to hear what he is going through. Hopefully this surgery and next round of chemotherapy and radiation is just what is needed to get him on the road back to good health. Let us…
  • Happy New Year to all of you. May this new year be the best in our weight loss goals!
  • Jenboye I am not familiar with the ketogenic diet but it sounds interesting. Please keep us updated with your progress. I'm thankful that today is just about over. Had to travel down to Boston for work and the traffic was a bear. It's like no one had ever driven in snow before. I had hoped to do my exercising outside but…
