You will retain your figure. Most glycogen is stored in the muscles, so it looks like pretty, lean mass. You still got rid of the fat.

Measuring tapes cost $1.00 at any craft or sewing store.

So what do you do in the 6-7 hours between dinner and bedtime? Many people here would be envious to have that much free time to exercise. If a 5 o'clock dinnertime is inflexible, plan for four meals.

I'd be surprised if it was over 400. I don't even see salad dressing. The chicken looks stripped of sauce also. So 250-300.

Visible vasculature in your midsection??? Your body fat percentage is likely well below 10. A size 32 waist is fit for just about any height or weight for a man. You're probably too skinny.

I suggest placing the bar on cinder blocks or anything that will raise it to the height of a normal Olympic plate. If you are lifting just the bar off of the ground, then you are doing a deficit deadlift. If you are doing it in a power rack, then you are doing a rack pull. Deficit deadlifts put extra pressure on your lower…

Cook all of your meals. Clean the kitchen every day. Only buy single-serving snacks. Food is more important when you are losing; exercise is more important when you reach your goal weight.

@DavPul Spot on!

Glycogen. Glycogen is stored in your liver and muscles along with 3-4 grams of water on a weight/weight basis. People typically can store a maximum of 500 grams of glycogen (with 1,500 - 2,000 grams of water). Glycogen is a carbohydrate and thus contains 4 calories per gram. It takes roughly 400 calories to burn through…

Alcohol is tricky. The more you drink, the less efficient your body becomes using it as fuel. I always log one or two drinks. If I drink a few more, I log them and still stay within my calorie goals. If I have several more, I stop logging the alcohol and eat my calorie allotment. I'll sometimes backlog them the next day,…

For me, it was intermittent pain, followed by MRI, followed by arthroscopic surgery. The surgery was such a relief that I didn't need any pain medication after it. (Including the day and night of the surgery).

No. It's delicious and enjoyed.

That's two data points accounting for one pound. Do you have any other info? How has your weight lifting been affected in the last month? Has your protein consumption changed? A digital body scale measures two things, weight and impedance. It then takes information that you gave it (gender, age, height) and *poof*, it…

Incorrect. Race walking is a different beast than most forms of cardio. The movement becomes more inefficient the faster you walk. Jogging, running, and normal walking all maintain their efficiency as speed increases, except for the slight increase in wind resistance. Strides increase in length. For race walking and power…

You need more math! Your calculations assume 100% of the weight loss will be from fat. But there will be much muscle loss (~400 calories per pound), some bone mineral density loss (0 calories per pound), and a bit of extra cellular fluid loss (~0 calories per pound). There's also a few pounds of muscular and liver glycogen…

It's doubtful that you gained 15 pounds of muscle and lost 15 pounds of fat in two months. If you are a high school or collegiate-aged male athlete, AND just starting weight training, maybe. To lose weight, eat a little less. -250 calories/day should be enough to make the scale start moving. And now you have baseline…

Assuming you maintain the same level of hydration during the run, the weight loss is due to glycogen consumption. Your muscles replenish ATP (the primary fuel) by burning blood sugars and fats, glycogen, and stored fats. The ratio of those depends on your intensity and what's available. Blood volume does not change as you…

I've been waiting to see that. Looking good!

So that's two votes for not weighing food. 500 calories at breakfast is a big deal for me. And the problem exists to a lesser extent fir other fatty cuts of meat. How lean is ground beef after you brown and drain it?

I went for a walk during lunch yesterday; I ended up walking 4.2 miles in 39 minutes (6.5 mph). Walking. When I got back to work, one of the guys on the floor wolf-whistled at me. I'm a guy, lol.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

If you're not eating breakfast and have sufficient energy to make it to lunch, then don't eat breakfast. If I'm working hard, I can only make it to 10:00 or so without breakfast. My standard breakfast is 3 hard boiled eggs (210 calories), which sustain me until noon or so.

@cavia , Excellent success! The trend in published studies is surprisingly consistent. Your food logging is very tight. And your exercise logging looks suspiciously low. For me, I just checked my last four weeks: 52,000 calorie deficit (14.9 pounds of fat @3,500/lb), 4.3 actual weight loss. My food and exercise logging are…

Angel, Losing only 1/3 to 1/2 of your calculated deficit in body weight is actually typical. You will see that in most published studies. It's usually explained-away by people logging inaccurately. I have yet to see a published CICO study where people gained or lost at a rate of 3,500 calories per pound. So you're right on…

You didn't ask for a recommendation, you asked for a "Crique" (sic). I gave you a critique. I also gave you (productive) alternatives. C25K gets you ready to run nonstop for 30 minutes. That is an excellent fitness goal. I mentioned how boring walking on a treadmill is, and how little it does to reduce your weight. Those…

http://jap.physiology.org/content/113/12/1831 Excerpts for you: The exercise groups were as follows: 1) resistance training (RT), (3 days/wk, 3 sets/day, 8–12 repetitions/set); 2) aerobic training (AT), (calorically equivalent to ∼12 miles/wk at 65–80% peak VO2); 3) aerobic training plus resistance training (AT/RT),…

@Sam_I_Am77: People progress just fine lifting 2x15. I would rather do that than a single one rep max. I believe you misunderstood the question. OP is basically asking what strength training is. And I can do probably 50 reps of half of my one rep max in most exercises. I don't call that "lifting heavy".
-
Those were my words not his. Do you think people lose weight training for an athletic event? The goals are in conflict.
-
I'll make it simple (and mostly-accurate): "Lifting Heavy" is being unable to do the same motion with a weight more than 20 times in a row. So kettlebells, spinning, yoga, pilates, zumba, jazercize, whatever is not lifting heavy. Some of those might be "lifting heavy" for a period of time, but won't be eventually. For me,…

About the only thing that I can think of that would be worse than running on a treadmill at the gym would be walking on a treadmill at the gym. Good luck with that. C25K won't do anything to help you shed pounds. Not a damn thing. Any calories that you burn (and it won't be many) you will earn back on your couch that night…
