Distance is the biggest factor in calories burned. Speed just let's you do that distance faster.0

walk X distance you would burn X calories. And while walking faster might burn slightly more cals but you're done faster so it might not amount to much more.0 -

True. You burn X calories exerting X effort over time. If you walk 20 minute miles you end up exerting half the effort twice as long as someone that runs a 10 minute mile so it evens out and ends up being the same. Of course the person running probably ran 2 miles while you did 1 and got twice the calorie burn that you did. That's the upside to running the distance vs walking.

Incorrect. Race walking is a different beast than most forms of cardio. The movement becomes more inefficient the faster you walk. Jogging, running, and normal walking all maintain their efficiency as speed increases, except for the slight increase in wind resistance. Strides increase in length. For race walking and power walking, strides decrease in length. And your arms pump harder.
Race walking and power walking burn more calories than jogging at the same speed. And speeds can be comprable.0 -
