  • Hi there! Loose skin is a thing and many factors go into loose skin: age, genetics, the amount of weight lost, etc. There are quite a few good threads here about loose skin-also check out "obese to beast" on Youtube!
  • For the low row, if you are using a machine for this, something I have found helpful is to do some activation moves first and really focus on the part of my back I want to be working- so I might do a set or two of rows with DBs and then move to the machine. Also make sure you are really retracting your shoulders and…
  • Most people go by the motto of "calories in, calories out". Basically loosing weight means burning more calories in a day than you consume. You can get into the countless debates on when to eat, what to eat, how to eat it....but the bottom line is: math. Some people have open food diaries here you can check those out. Best…
  • take your time, this is a marathon not a sprint-so to speak! True, sustainable weight loss happens slowly over time. There is no 1 week or even 1 month magic cure! Log accurately, get enough sleep and water, make better habits and it will show!
  • I think you need to step away from the scale for a second. Weighing in too often creates a poor picture in your mind of your over all health and fitness. The scale can change from day to day because of a variety of factors. Maybe only weigh in once per week or every two weeks. Focus on other measures for awhile (like…
  • I think it depends. How often are you weighing yourself or taking measurements?
  • I don't "time" my protein around my workouts, I time my carbs around workouts. As long as you are hitting your protein goals for the day then you should be fine. What are your stats? Is there any other reason (other than what your trainer told you) that feel you should have a more timed approach to your protein intake?
  • This is my current progress in a year. 29 yr old, female, 5 ft 4 in, lost 60 lbs.
  • You are likely just not waiting long enough to see the results of your work! Every body works differently and every body burns fat differently. When I got started and even now I only weigh in once a month! Week to week is too often and has too many variables for me personally. This is a journey, not a sprint! Slow down and…
  • The only "pre workouts" I use are caffeine ( in the form of black coffee) and carbs to help me lift. I generally eat most of my daily carbs around my workout then taper off through the day.
  • Hi iotterbeinbed! Thanks for your message and your friend request. I am still not in recovery, still working on getting better every single day...just in case anyone got the impression that I have "beaten" my eating disorder. It isn't something you "beat" and then it is over, just like being a recovering alcoholic or drug…
  • I've been on BC for like 12 years. I have recently lost quite a bit of weight (60 lbs) while trying to maintain the muscle I have, I haven't noticed any real problems related to weight loss and BC. I am debating about stopping my pills after I have my tubal ligation in a month (If things suddenly change after that I can…
  • I totally agree with this! I work legs 3 or 4 days a week right now, with one day of those being the real heavy weight. I am usually sore a bit, but I work through it none the less. As long as you are safe and able to do the movements then you should be fine. Also, I agree that you should look into a lifting program that…
  • I totally get it! I am having a very and I mean VERY little bit of loose skin after losing around 60 ish lbs. it is mostly in small spots (those very small close together little lines of skin) on my inner thighs. But seriously, congrats to you! Check out his channel he is great and also gives other people platforms to talk…
  • Check out the Youtube channel called Obease to Beast, he has lost over a 100 lbs and has loose skin. He is very open and honest about it and has several videos dedicated to this topic! Good luck!
  • Currently hovering around 160 lbs. My current lifts are: bench 125, squat 135, dead lift 250. I have been working very hard to lose weight (ive lost around 50 lbs) and still be able to lift the same amounts. Slow going, but I am getting there. You will too!
  • Birds Eye has some great "fake" pasta made with veggies and lentils. I really love them and the texture is no different to me than real pasta. Calorie wise it isnt bad either (not sure what the macro breakdown is). I live in the South and usually can find them in the freezer sections of local stores like Food Lion and…
  • Hi there! I'm 28, 5 ft. 4 in. Staring weight of 206, currently at 171. My goal is 150 and see how I feel. I have never been a small person. I am working in a calorie deficit- 1400ish per day. I am also working out- cardio 45 mins a day and weight lifting. I have been at it since mid-December.
  • I don't think 2 hours is too much at all. I actually split my workouts, I lift in the morning for 45 mins, then do about 45 mins of cardio in the afternoon after work. If you feel fine then there is no reason to second guess. Listen to your body, it will tell you when things are too much! Also....best of luck!
  • Asthma sufferer here! I do about 25-45 mins of cardio per day in the gym. I just make sure to take my inhaler 10 to 15 mins before any exercise and I am doing just fine! I also keep my inhaler on me in the gym as well, just in case. Talk to your doctor about your desire to lose weight and your fear of a reaction while…
  • You can't really spot reduce one area, unfortunately. You will see results in over all appearance but not in one specific place at a time. Best thing to do is keep on doing what you already are.
  • Strength training is the way to go, also if you lose slowly your skin will likely be less "saggy". Your skin has elasticity to it and will shrink back naturally over time, if you lose slowly you will see better skin results. Keep hydrated too and moisturize skin regularly.
  • first off, congrats on working so hard. dedication like that makes a huge difference. Gravity is probably taking its toll because you are losing fat in those areas, the skin was probably stretched out father/fuller when you were heavier. Now that you are smaller the flesh there hasn't had the time to shrink back yet, it…
  • try Kind's Chocolate Granola....very crunchy with a bit of sweetness.
  • You just gotta do it. Go in there with an attitude of "I'm here to work hard" and "Don't get in my way" and you will be just fine. The right playlist will also help you lift with confidence. I generally listen to Heavy Metal/Hardcore Rap/Techno when I am lifting. You have a program and it looks like you have laid good…
  • Pills are not the way to go- if they work they will end up being dangerous (either because of the amount of caffeine or other substances that jack up your heart rate). The best method is to make a plan and stick to it.
  • Start slowly would be my advice. To lose weight you only need to burn more calories during the day than you take in. Walk to the end of the drive way, then to the corner of the road, and then to the end of the street. It will get easier! Working out in water is a great way to start, easy on the joints! You can do it!
  • I'm usually lifting to rock/metal: "Beast" by Rob Bailey, "Through The Fire and Flames" by DragonForce, "Party Hard" by Andrew WK, etc. When I'm running I need techno/synth/pop: Kesha is great, Avicii, and the like.
  • Old Navy isn't bad, I have had a GREAT experience with Fabletics. I was skeptical about even trying them because I didn't think they would have anything for my size, but I was wrong. I love their compression shorts so much! They also have leggings as well (everything comes up really high waisted) they even stay put during…
