  • I carry a water bottle around when I'm doing my housework, I think it helps from eating through boredom x
  • I get a DEXA because of my bone density, for medical reasons. Not to check body fat. The body fat result is a bonus for me. :)
  • Hello! I am 5'4 and 124lbs and my body fat on January 27th was 34.5%. Since I found this out I have started lifting weights 3x a week (I got a trainer to do me a programme) and I do bodyattack 2x a week too. I have lost NO weight since I started MFP a few weeks ago (eating maintenance cals), but my body has shrunk :) My…
  • I'm kinda new here and I'm maintaining! Loving MFP wish I'd started it ages ago for my weight loss (I did weight watchers to loose). X
  • I had the opposite fear from you, in a way!! I was totally cool with going to a group class, because you were being told what to do!! The thought of going into a gym with all those weights and scary machines was so much more terrifying!! I was scared I'd be this clueless girl just walking around too afraid to try a machine…
  • I haven't had any alcohol since January 9th. I just got fed up of it! I only drank a few times a month (not every weekend) and I feel tonnes better for stopping. I'm not saying I'm never drinking again but I'm going to see how long I can do it for. I have had a few nights out and just had soft drinks, I didn't feel like a…
  • This isn't what I do. I weigh out 70g of dry pasta, then in MFP it has 'Asda penne pasta Uncooked' and I type in 70g..... ??
  • I love body pump. (I wouldn't say it is cardio, at least not in the way body attack is.) I definitely notice gains but Could be newbie gains because I have only been doing it since January.

  • I did this last weekend. I just upped my exercise and ate a little less of my calories. Don't panic about one day. :)
  • I'm in the same position. I'm lifting heavy and eating more protein. I'm already seeing my waist get smaller and making gains and it's only been about 3/4 weeks
  • Yes I agree with these comments. I had E.Coli 2 years ago and needed hospital attention. Also, you contract E.Coli about 10-14 days before your symptoms even start. Not sure if all types of food poisoning are the same though. Wishing you a speedy recovery however only a stool sample test will confirm if you have salmonella
  • I joined MFP 2 weeks ago. My goal is to maintain. I am set to lightly active and although I lift 3x a week I don't eat my calories earned. So far I have stayed 124lbs. I feel nervous about eating my calories (1780) but I hope that I will actually need to increase them!! Time will tell over the next few weeks. Feel free to…
  • I wonder if this is the first time you have got that off your chest? My husband is like you. He drinks every night. Doesn't get drunk though, and has about 4-6 beers a night. He is self employed and never misses work. Infact he's a bit of a workaholic. He thinks this means he 'deserves' his beers every night. He is an…
  • Can't make the gym this afternoon because my son is sick So I'm doing bodyattack tonight when my husband gets in from work!
  • I went way over my calories yesterday. My husband and I went to a fancy hotel overnight and I wasn't going to pass on the desserts!! I think a day off (but not a day binging) is a good thing occasionally. Don't feel guilty for it, and know that it doesn't mean that your have taken a step back. As long as you know that it…
  • I love mine, got it last month. I love seeing the burn it is a great motivator!!
  • I have no idea how to do that lol
  • MFP set my protein to 20% but I upped it to 25%. Eating maintenance calories and not eating back exercise calories. I hope I'm doing all the right things to change body composition :)
  • I love this advice, thank you! I plan on doing the 5x5 eventually!
  • I'm in Glasgow, I have 2 boys age 9 and nearly 4. Jillian Michaels 30 day shred is good and only 20 mins xx

  • I got mine done at my gym. I am getting a more advanced (or accurate!) one at the hospital next month, a DEXA scan. But this is to check my bone density, the bonus is that it reads your body fat % too :) so I will have that to compare! I hope it has gone down!!
  • Me!!! I am 5'4 and 124lbs and have 34.5% body fat. I got a body composition analysis scan 2 weeks ago which recommended that I loose 6kg of fat and replace with 6kg of muscle. (So not actually loose weight!) So that's my goal. At my next scan I'm hoping to see major improvements as I've been lifting 3x a week and also…
  • Great post! I want to maintain my weight but change my body composition... I know I need to stop obsessing about the scale but I'm finding it difficult after so many years of it ruling my life!! Thank you for this
