Hi, I apologise if I am asking a very stupid question or one that is asked lots, but I am so confused by pasta! I eat Asda's great stuff oat & wheat fusilli (it's kids pasta that is smaller than normal pasta so lower in calories) it says on the packet & on MFP that 100g cooked as directed is 140 calories, but, is this 100g cooked weight, ie approx. 50g uncooked weight, or 100g before it is cooked? As obviously pasta gets heavier when it is cooked. I have googled galore but find conflicting or just plain confusing answers! Can I weigh out 100g of dry pasta then cook it & know this is 140 calories, or do I need to weigh it when cooked? TIA.

The values on the packet are cooked weight. Same for all Asda pasta.

This isn't what I do. I weigh out 70g of dry pasta, then in MFP it has 'Asda penne pasta Uncooked' and I type in 70g..... ??0

I log dry.
Watch out though. 'Asda - Authentic Italian Penne Pasta Uncooked' is incorrect, so don't use that.
Asda don't appear to provide 'as sold' or 'uncooked' values on pasta, either on packets or on the website. Tesco do, so they're a good logging reference.
You can't really go wrong with any entry that's around 360cal per 100g of uncooked pasta.
