The cheat meal every weekend might be something to do with it?

I put on 8lbs but I'm not trying to loose it as I've lost inches! I don't worry about the scale so much these days it's all about the mirror x
-
I have logged for 380-ish days now! Feel free to add me as a friend (anyone!) as I don't know how to, despite me being here so long! I'm not so much a maintainer as a body recomp-er haha. Add away peeps! :)

Terar21 this was a great post thank you. I want to compete next year. I have been lifting heavy for 8 months now and I feel like next year will be a good time and I will have had time to prepare for it, mentally as well as in the gym.

Feel free to add me, I'm doing re-comp eating at maintenance and lifting heavy :)
-
I did a full pull up yesterday. 6 months ago I struggled just dangling on the bar!
-
I have found photos to be the best way, and how my clothes fit. Unfortunately I never did use a tape measure so I don't know the exact numbers

I lift heavy and I count calories. I'm eating at maintenance because I'm trying to recomp. I also track my macros. I guess it depends what your goals are.

Wow almost 1000 days on MFP that deserves a high five! Yes I like that attitude, a week is nothing in the scheme of things, it's the other 51 weeks of the year that make a difference. We are going to Marmaris in Turkey!

I am only about 4lbs under my wedding day weight (got married in June 2014) but if I tried my dress on today I know it would be hanging off me!! I started lifting weights a few months ago. It hasn't made a big difference to the scale but my body has changed shape so much. Don't worry so much about the number in the…

This happened to me! But I'm not complaining, it means my maintenance is higher than I thought

Love this! I ate soooo much at my best friends wedding yesterday and I didn't even know how to log it. I weighed this morning (out of interest, I know it's not real weight gain) and I'm up 4lbs - but I don't even care. It was one day of indulgence and I'm back on the logging train today. I will be back down to normal in no…

Oh and once you start lifting weights you will be addicted!! x

You sound like me, I have been doing a recomp since January. Find your maintenance - eat those calories and lift heavy weights 3x a week. It is working for me! I have lost a few pounds while figuring out maintenance calories but it takes a few weeks to find that sweet spot, good luck!

Well done on your workout journey!

Realising I'm 'changing my lifestyle' and not 'dieting'.

Wednesday for me. It means if I have more calories at the weekend I have a few days to claw some back with exercise or eating a bit less. Also for water weight gain, sodium gain etc. I have always weighed a Wednesday since I was doing Weight Watchers
-
I have been on MFP for about 7 weeks doing maintenance. I eat 1800 a day but I have lost 2lbs so I could probably increase to 1900. I exercise 3 days a week and burn about 600-700 calories on my exercise days. It's all about finding out what works for you.
-
My goal is also to do a pull up :) I have been using the assisted pull up machine and also doing other back exercises like lat pulls and bent over rows. I tried some 'negatives' the other day and they are hard!!!! But I'll get there :) Good luck!
-
Are you sure you are sticking to 1200 calories a day? You need to weigh and measure every single thing that goes in your mouth! As long as calories in is less than calories out then the weight will come off. If you already are doing this then I am sorry but I don't know why your not loosing weight!
-
I do more exercise during the week to give me extra calories to 'spend' on a cheat meal. (So actually it's not a CHEAT meal at all!) :)
-
I weigh everyday but only log on Wednesdays
-
Feel free to add me :) I'm 28 and I lift weights and do bodyattack. Lost weight with WW but now on MFP as a maintainer!! Wish I'd lost weight with MFP instead of WW as its awesome! X

Drinking water, I bought a cool pink water bottle that I carry around with me and I drink from it constantly. Pre logging meals! It's Sunday today and I know what I'm having for breakfast lunch and dinner for the next 4 days. I have left calories spare for snacks which I decide on the day :)

Hi! I did Bodypump today with my polar HRM and I got 357kcal for 1hour. I'm 5'4 and 124lbs. I always wear my polar and I've never had more than 400 kcal for pump. And believe me I am pushing myself in the class!! X
-
I have the Polar FT4 and I couldn't care less about the zone, I just use it to see my calories burned
-
Brilliant, well done :)

I was wondering how long the newbie gains 'train' lasted! I've been lifting for 5 weeks and wondered if it was anytime soon, I didn't realise it would be months that's good news :)
-
I log my whole week in advance and leave some calories by for snacks which I choose on the day. Works great for me.

I eat PhD ones (I'm in the UK) they're lovely if you put them in the microwave for 10 seconds mmm :)
