Lokai (named by the fine folks on this thread) LOVES stuffed animals. Here she is sleeping with one in her mouth. Probably to protect it from our other dog.

Had to google "poutine." Sounds delicious. I'll eat anything with cheese. Well, maybe not a fried nightcrawler.
-
What is it? That thing hanging off the center tier looks like a fried nightcrawler.

Old dog and new dog.

Lokai. Growing fast.

She LOVED the name! So, here are some more pics of "Lokai." Taken during her ride home and then the exhausted phase after arriving home, touring the house, meeting the family and resident dog, seeing the yard, and being put in her pen for a nap. My daughter says she fell asleep like this. (I'm at work so am getting pics…

I had to Google it, but once I saw the pics I remembered the episode. Sadly, I don't think any of my children are trekkies, but I'll run it by her. The puppy comes home on Saturday.

It's a female. Is Ozzie masculine?

LOL. Good one. Though I've read that Aussie's weren't actually developed in Australia. I'll pass along the suggestion.

My daughter's new pup. She can't come home with us for another two weeks. She needs a name if anyone has suggestions. My daughter says she wants a name that is "unique, and not English." Currently, she's leaning towards "Malaika," which is "Angel" in Swahili. Blah. I'm hoping you puppy aficionados can do better.

Found what looked like a Mother's Day gift (never received by me) from about two years ago. It was a piece of paper with sentences that the kids had to finish. One sentence was "My favorite memory of my mom is..." It was finished with "when I came home from school and she was so much skinnier." Ha! It didn't happen…

Ah, I didn't realize that your version was rolled up. That would explain why they're called "funnel" cakes. :) They often use cinnamon and sugar instead of powered sugar here, but I've seen them both ways. Last summer was the first time I've seen the version with pie filling. Because they weren't already unhealthy enough.

We still have them at the fairs here (Michigan), but they're called elephant ears. My kids love them.

Thank you.

I'm not sure how you are posting side-by-sides, but this was the best I could do. The first is me just after baby #4 (about 9 years ago). Sadly, that was not my highest weight. The other two are from last year (80 pounds down). That was my very first bathing suit and I actually wore it out in public. Yes, I picked one that…

I was also raised to not waste food, but luckily, we live in a rural area and any "extra" food goes to our chickens, or our pig, or Rosie (the dog) so nothing is really going to waste. We just say, "Oh, well, so-and-so will enjoy this." I've also taught the kids to take smaller portions- they can always go back for more if…

I 100% agree with this, and feel that I must make this announcement for the public good. My daughter just got her first job at Burger King and has informed me that if you ask, they will give you half-fries and half-onion rings in your order. I said, yeah, but will they do something evil to your food for being such a PIA?…

[quote= Can you answer me this then...why don't those chickens I see that roam freely not go out into the street...how do they know ...do you train them?? [/quote] We don't live close enough to the road for ours to go into the street, but our neighbor's are in the road all the time. They're just good at getting out of the…

I just have to jump in here to admit that I thought white eggs were dyed that color until I was about 10 years old, when I discovered the truth. I was raised on a farm and we'd had many, many breeds of chickens over the years, and I'd never in my life seen a white egg come out of a chicken. Various shades of brown/tan and…

I've been in maintenance for almost two years now (I can't believe it's been that long) and things have been kind of in a rut, lately. It's cold out and I'm freezing and don't want to go outside to run. I haven't been getting my steps in. My main goal has just been to not gain back all of the weight I've lost. I love…

Lol. Yes, it is. I always do better with a little competition.

Yesterday my husband apologized to me for "stealing" my steps by going out to bring the trashcan in. We have a long driveway, so round trip gives me about 750 steps. The best thing was, he said he needed the steps for himself. Ha! I still remember the first time he saw me weighing my food, he laughed at me. Now, we're…

They are adorable!!

DONE.

Okay, a few more. First time meeting a goat, and PUPPIES!!! These are from many years ago, but I'm so happy for the excuse to look through old dog photos.

I don't know how I'm only just now finding this thread! I just spent the last two days going through all 49 pages. Here's our oldie (but goodie) and newbie. This was her first time meeting a cat.

+1000. It shouldn't even be legal for them to call it chocolate.

My husband has been very forthcoming with the compliments lately. Several days ago I was wearing a dress and he had just put his glasses on. He turned and said to me, "I put on my glasses and now you look twice as good. I didn't know what I was missing." LOL. I'm loving all of the attention.
