  • I agree with the TRX straps! They really helped me!
  • I wish I would have started lifting weights earlier instead of waiting until I had already lost almost 70 lbs!
  • You are absolutely right about the fat under the skin. I do not have any intentions of getting surgery. My plan is to literally work my *kitten* off. I lift heavy twice a week at this point. I do not think my butt and legs are hopeless. My stomach skin hangs but I don't really care about that.
  • That's awesome! You rock 'em girl!! I bought Bermudas for the first time this year. I'm not quite at the f*** it stage yet lol
  • I hear you! I'm in the same boat! My arms are getting almost muscular, my clavicle bones are protruding, you can see my upper rib cage and my face at times looks sullen but... I have all this weight on my bottom half. I will say that starting to run 2 months ago has helped me to lose almost an inch off of each thigh. I was…
  • I really do appreciate everyone's help. I'm going to stick with the 1650 calories for a while until I reach my goal of 140. I've really upped my game at the gym. I don't want to be the person who just says I don't like what my body looks like but isn't willing to do anything about it. I'm going to keep up my running (which…
  • I have taken a diet break before. I have been lifting since October however with an injury I had and then a surgery I'm just now getting serious about it again. I have orthostatic hypertension and other health issues that are heightened when I'm eating in a deficit so I'm really wanting to reach my goals at this point…
  • My butt is actually just all fat and I was hoping the running would help melt some of it off my butt and legs. I feel like all the weight training in the world won't show muscles through all my fat
  • I strength train once a week but am bumping it to 2 days a week. I want to do more. As for my body fat percentage I'm due to get it redone. I'm currently 150 lbs and a size 8 bottom and a small top. Unfortunately you cannot spot treat where u lose fat and I do not want to lose anymore weight in my face or upper body but…
  • PS... People obviously only ever see me with clothes on and think I'm crazy for wanting to keep losing but they don't see what I see when the clothes are off! I know I've had 3 children and was 245 lbs at one time but I want to look better and feel better in my skin!
  • In maintenance mode I ate around 1800. I am losing inches because even though the scale hasn't moved my pants are all getting too big.
  • How many calories a day would u suggest?
  • I weigh everything I eat and I never eat exercise calories back. I've only been going to the gym for 3 months but it's the first time that I've ever gone to the gym in my life so I'm starting from the absolute bottom. I know it's only been 4 days and I shouldn't panic but I'm so afraid I won't make my ultimate goal of 150…
  • I lost 70 lbs in the last year and just started going to the gym in the last 3 months... My trainer who also is the gym owner has asked me to lead a weight loss class with her that starts in 2 weeks. I can't believe me if all people has been asked to lead a weight loss class! That is a big NSV!
  • I lost 70 lbs in the last year from mostly counting calories and eating in a deficit... I did walk some but not enough to say that it contributed much. Eating in a deficit is really the key!
  • Thank you everyone for the feedback!
  • Thank you so much for the feedback. I do agree in ppl gain weight because they return back to their former way of eating. I have made a lifestyle change and plan to monitor my calorie intake for life. I like carbs way too much to not eat them anymore.
  • What your seeing in my diary where it says so many cups is from the recipe builder. I weigh out all ingredients in grams and then see how many 1 cup servings it makes when it's done (ie 10 cups equals 10 servings). I really do try to be as precise as humanly possible. I agree that in as low of calories I eat in a day the…
  • You look like a new person and SOOO much younger! Way to go!
  • Ok thank you I was confused. I have no extreme goals I just want to lose another 60 lbs. I'm currently down 22. I have never been much of an athlete so my goals are mainly to lose the weight and get healthy. I want to have the energy to keep up with my kids. I have no intentions or desire of becoming a body builder or…
  • So what your saying Vismal is I really should concentrate on not eating too many carbs? I have my macros set to 40 carbs 30 fat and 30 protein. I'm usually over on carbs and protein. I'm not over in my actual numbers just the pie chart says I'm over.
  • All the research I've done says that it doesn't matter what and when I eat as long as I'm in my calorie deficit I will lose weight no matter what. However I see so many ppl on here very concerned about their macros and making sure they aren't eating too many carbs. Part of me wants to stop worrying about my macros and just…
  • I have celiac disease as well... I don't look for specific gluten free recipes but instead just alter regular recipes to be gluten free. The only thing I have yet to make that I feel tastes normal (like the gluten filled kind) is Stromboli.
  • This is what I found... If you measure out the beans in ounces you get 9.6 so I just don't see why I should count the calories for 15 ounces of beans if the rest of the ounces is liquid. Am I over thinking this?!? My brain hurts trying to wrap my mind around this one lol
  • I looked up how many calories were in 9.6 ounces of cooked black beans. So are you saying by doing that I am under the amount of calories that are really in them? I don't see how if your only consuming 9.6 ounces.
  • I've been telling everyone about weighing vs measuring and explaining why and ppl are just shocked! I was using 15 oz cans of black beans in a recipe and found that once drained and rinsed there is really only 9.6 ounces in each can. not the 15 they said. I found that the 15 oz weight includes the liquid and the can. My…
  • My bubble has been bursted... As a mom of 3 who works full time I'm really busy. I thought as long as I got something pre packaged I would be safe and not have to weigh it out :-(. I just started weighing out all my solid foods and I'm amazed and horrified that I have been over eating due to pure ignorance. Before this…
  • Thanks guys! Vismal I weigh and measure everything I eat and rarely ever eat out. Preparing my own foods allows me to ensure they are really gluten free (I have celiac disease) and how many calories they have. I have only been doing this for 31 days but so far I have not cheated. I feel great! I have more energy than ever…
  • I like to view counting my calories as a game. I like to take the foods I like and experiment with them to see where I can cut calories and still have it taste great. I really like to cook so that does help. You do not have to exercise to lose weight although it will help. As long as you stay within a calorie deficit you…
  • If you try to eat the same foods you always ate and stay under your calories it will not work unfortunately. My calorie goal is 1490 and I can never eat enough food to get to that point. I eat all the time too. I eat things like egg beaters mixed with seasoned ground turkey and veggies for breakfast or protein shakes made…
