I would not drop benching I were you. I'm doing a 6 day modified 5/3/1. I bench and squat twice a week. I also had some adductor issues when I changed to low bar squat and widened my stance. So make sure you are comfortable in your stance and as SS said do lots of hip mobility work.

Congratulations on the PR! My goal was 500 by the end of the year. I pulled 505 last Tuesday. I have about 5 1/2 months before my first meet. I'm really looking forward to it.

I started lifting in 2009. I am 6'3" and I weighed 160lbs. I gained 47lbs the first year. I spent the next five years doing the typical bodybuilding "bro split". This April I began to focus on strength training and plan on competing in powerlifting at some point next year. I have had some overuse injuries as of late and…

Interesting article. A lot of it makes since too.

I am going to continue icing and wrapping this week. If it isn't much better by Monday I will be headed to the doctor. I think it's just a groin strain but I don't want to risk anything serious. Thanks

So Last Monday while squatting, 4th rep of 4th set I got a little fast going down and went a little to deep and when I exploded up I felt a pop just inside of my upper thigh. I iced and rested and haven't squatted since. It was much better just a little tender. Today at work I moved wierd I guess and I felt it pop again…

I think it's a mixture of a few things but it hurts to do any pulling exercise. I never use straps and it's my under hand (mixed grip). Going back to my straps when I get back into it and probably double over hand grip.

I have developed tendinitis in both elbows due to too much deadlifting. I fell in love with it in April. And I have just done too much too often. My body has let me know that it needs a break. I plan on taking the next two weeks off which is going to kill me since I'm an addict. I plan on continuing to squat 1 day heavy…

That's funny!

That it is... But who weighs their self by the gallon?

I don't disagree with you. I disagree with whoever said muscle weighs more than fat. As you lift you may not lose as much quickly but your body will change.

Fat and muscle weigh the same. 5 pounds of fat weighs five pounds. Five pounds of muscle weighs five pounds. They are just different sizes.

Amen! @ukphotolady So you posted about losing your first stone. That's awesome. Congratulations

PT isn't a bad idea but I would also stretch. Lower back pain comes often from tight glutes and tight hamstrings.

You'll have to find the macros ratio that fits you. I found a good lean muscle ratio is 45% carbs 35% protein 20% fat. That's what I follow but I eat close to 4000 calories a day. Maybe that isn't exact for you but you need more carbs and less fat IMO.
