I'm 4'11" and let's just say that dropping a 100 lbs would not put me underweight. 😕
-
I'm in! I decided mid January I was going to get this weight off. Baby steps has been the progress. A sketchy2 lbs down so far. It took a month to add a yoga and tai chi class into my week.

I think it really depends on you and your situation. Going on MF was good for me. I had a lot of weight to lose and my body was in a bad state. Going on MF basically kickstarted my body and mind in the right direction.

I actually did not lose weight fast (compared to others) on mf. But it was a stresdy loss. I find I'm really cranky those transition days when starting back on, which doesn't help keep me on track.
-
I've been trying to get back on the horse and haven't lasted more Than a few days.

This thread is hilarious! Not so much a fad diet, but fad diet helper: my family had a little electronic thing you attach to the fridge door and every time you open the fridge, it OINKed like a pig a few times or it said, "eating again, fatty!?" at you. It didn't last long, that I recall. Lol.

Hang in there! things will improve. Have you spoken to your doc about the med making you so tired? Soemtimes, that can be offset (even if just a little) by certain vitamins that may be getting depleted by the meds.
-
The diabetic diet is also low carb, that might by why your doc recommended. It's also low in lots of other things we shouldn't be eating. I'm dealing with some similar issues and some different issues than you and went low carb last year (per dr) until I was told to go gluten free (per another dr). Both have helped. I'm…

Congrats on (almost) reaching your goal! I don't have any advice or experience of being close to my goal using MF, not there - yet! In the past, I reassessed my workouts, food intake (what as well as how much), and water consumption. Basically, changed things up a little and it eventually helped. Those last 10 or so are…

A diary in the beginning is really helpful. It can accomplish a number of things: 1. Helps you see how much you are really eating. Using MFP as your diary (which can be kept private) helps you easily see how much nutrition the foods you pick have or lack. 2. Possibly help you figure out what foods may be not working in…

Ditto. Put on 5 lbs and struggling to get back on track.

Happy to join your journey! I'm 4'11" and have lost ~35 lbs over the last year with 3x that to still lose. It's been a slow journey for me. Like someone mentioned, when you are sedentary, it can be more difficult. I'm looking for motivation and support as well. While we each have our own journey, the support is really…

WOW, that is awesome to hear - 3.75 years! Congratulations!!! What types of things did you find most helpful when transitioning back to a meal plan? Why can't you do MF anymore - just because you are at/close to goal weight?
-
thanks!

thanks Maribullah!

I have the same struggle, dcm0m! Good luck!
-
LOL! Or the carbs were bringing you down! Either way, yay - glad you are doing and feeling great!
-
Soaking...that's what I meant! :) I stir the food with water, let it sit for 5 minutes (stir occasionally). Cook. Then let the food sit and thicken another 3-5 minutes (covered) before eating.

Welcome back, pawheeler! Good luck!

It does get better - make sure you are drinking PLENTY of water! I know some of the literature says to sip chicken broth to help with the headaches while you are adjusting to ketosis. Interestingly enough, I found even after I was doing well, I had good days and bad days with hunger and feeling drained. Not sure if it was…

Good luck, blogomez! in the beginning, I was not doing the snacks or condiments (at least, very rarely) as well. Every time i do get to exercise, i feel amazing after - it's keeping it up and making it a priority that is always so hard.
-
Good luck, Lilly! Shella, there are a lot of free PDFs off the website with guidelines, etc. for you to download.
-
Hi Shellabella, The only guideline I know offhand is that you are supposed to keep carbs no more than 100 grams (?) a day to maintain ketosis. It seems I had a fat guideline as well, but I can't find that information to confirm. I just try to follow their "low fat" options list and keep any dressings and other items under…

It was helpful to hear in the sense your concerns fall in line with some of mine. How is it going with your version of a modified plan? I did a modified plan over the summer - more like a 4-2 plan with just a small amount of yogurt and fruit added in, rather than 5-1 that didn't include any of those. The loss results were…
-
I forgot to add - is that daily MF intake about what you see?
-
You can friend me if you still need support! I need it too!
-
I've been on it 50/50 for a while - it's kept me maintaining, but I need to get back on full force. I still have a long way to go. Good luck to you all! I could use the support as well to get the momentum going!

A tip I read early on with food like Ziti and Mac&Cheese is, let it sit for a while after stirring, but before cooking. Before eating, let it sit and thicken – it usually ends up looking like a heartier meal than watered down something. All the powdered food you cook seems to be less gritty when you let it sit for a bit…

Congrats on the 8 lbs! So glad to find a group. I'm new to TSFL this year. Started dieting last Christmas, joined TSFL in March, followed it for 3 months to give me a stronger kickstart, did a modified version over the summer, and now trying to get back on seriously again. Looking forward to hearing about everyone's…

I'm the same way - and I"m around your age with more weight to lose. We have tricked ourselves into the "comfort of food" and while we get momentary relief, we are hurting ourselves in the long run. Someone said to me the other day about returning to a bad environment as, "the devil you know..." and I feel it applies here…
