  • I do see what you're saying but personally it doesn't work for me. I stopped my last weight loss attempt after losing two stone because the scales didn't budge for a few weeks over two years ago. I've still got another two to lose. Sometimes my weekly weigh in would coincide with an 'up day' on the scales so it looked like…
  • Me too! Got a glass full of fresh lime and cucumber slices that I just keep topping up. Delicious. So so refreshing.
  • No bottles for me I'm afraid. I've got sparkling water on tap.
  • It's coming out of a post mix tap at my pub. There's no syrup or anything going into it. As far as I'm aware it's just mains water going through the carbonater machine!
  • HAHAHA i love winning!!
  • Just dropped you an add. I'd ideally like to lose two stone to get down to 10. Finding it difficult, keep losing motivation.
  • What a wonderful idea! If anything is going to motivate me to exercise it would be not being able to have a drink unless I did some! I don't know where everyone else in here is from but the idea that enjoying a glass of wine in the evening is an alcohol problem is laughable. Not being able to stop, or not being in control…
  • That's a great shout, I'll be doing that from now on!
  • You're probably right. It's only been a week but the last time I tried, I'd dropped half a stone in this time. I think it's because I feel more determined and committed to it this time, I'm expecting my body to realise I'm serious and play ball. Yeah, the turkey burgers are a recipe I made. Put the turkey mince and spring…
  • Stupidly anal about weighing stuff. I think that tiny chicken amount is just a rough estimate of the proportion I'll eat from sharing a whole breast with my boyfriend. I'll weigh it out more accurately later. Oh god no. It's date night with my boyfriend tonight so there'll probably be way more food, and some wine. Was just…
  • I own a pub & I'll throw in my two cents here. I'm on my second round of weight loss. I lost two stone about eighteen months back when I wasn't working and managed that by sticking to 1200 calories and still drinking wine almost every night. My trick then was an accidental one, I'm not a big fan of wine glasses (I'm very…
  • I follow a girl on Instagram for weight loss and she swears by water. Drinks about 4-5L a day and lost 91lbs in seven and a half months. I've tried to follow her example and am averaging about 3L a day. It's too early to see about its effects on my weight loss but I definitely feel much better for it. Don't know if that…
  • Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll download them all and see what works. I'd love to be able to do it normally but I work between 15-18 hours everyday and chop and change where and what I drink from so I just lose track when I'm trying to do it in my head. A pint here and there, then maybe a bottle if i pop out, gets…
  • Hahaha that sounds right up my street. Make it a game. I'll give it a try
  • I can't get my head around the MFP one. I mean, what the hell constitutes a cup? I'm English and don't have anything using those measurements. Much prefer being able to adjust it to a 1L bottle, or a pint say.
  • Thanks guys! It's so good seeing how other people are getting on!
  • I had to move back in with my parents for nine months a while back. They're both very overweight and my mother (the cook) has a habit of making even the most simple of foods calorie laden. If possible, do what I did and offer to cook dinner a few times a week. After a month or so, I was deciding the meals and cooking every…
  • Sounds like you're doing amazingly. Keep up the good work!
  • I like to plan after lunch. Breakfast is usually one of five options but when it comes to lunch, I have what a fancy, log it then plan my dinner around what I've got left. I work weird hours so find lunch so much more fun than dinner.
  • I own a pub in the UK and drink regularly. I manage to eat three decent sized and delicious meals a day and still come in at under 1200 calories a day (see my diary, if you'd like). I'm a huge wine fan, especially reds but sometimes switch to a dry white because it's lower in calories, especially if you add ice and soda…
  • Hooray! I never skip meals for it, whether I was drinking or not, my calories for the day are usually about 900-1000 for three meals. I kind of think it helps. Glass of wine feels like a treat and as long as it's in the goals, it's almost a guilt free reward
