Just an aside as it isn't relevant to OP. If taking any form of hormonal contraceptives, you should be careful about using St John's Wort as it's known to reduce effectiveness.

This might sound really silly but I actually add a pinch of sea salt to my coffee. I don't drink it with milk and it really helps take off the slightly bitter edge from a really strong brew!

I agree with the others about contouring. I've still got a bit of weight to go (like 20 pounds) and I think my face will always be round with a double chin. It just will. Learning to do basic contouring has made the world of difference to my confidence.

Just added you! I'm in Herts and started out at the same weight to you in January. Lost 17 pounds already!

You can always edit a recipe that you've already made. I do that loads. I make Mexican quinoa casserole all the time and use onions and bell peppers in it. Because they're fresh they weigh different each time. I just go back into the recipe and change the weights. It updates the calories to reflect that. BUT, key point…

Called back for a second face to face next Monday. Fingers crossed!

EXACTLY! No matter what, you should always find some time just to do you. I feel a million times better even though I'm already back at work. If I can do it, you all can.

HAHA I am in the UK! Took over the family company a couple of years back due to ill health and am in the final stages of selling up. Hence looking for a new job! I get absolutely bugger all done. Walking the dog is my main priority aside from work and I get four hours one night a week to see the other half. Fingers…

I didn't even know peanut butter Oreos were a thing?! WANT. WANT NOW

My personal fave from that "Just eyeball it" THAT'S WHAT GOT ME IN THIS DAMN MESS IN THE FIRST PLACE

It's just so frustrating. Being so disappointed after doing so well. I never expected to be a stone down so quickly and enjoy the process so much, I should be thrilled. I'll try and get my hands on some measuring tape and start on that from here. Hips, waist, chest & thighs seem like sensible measurements to take?

Hey I'm also your age. Open diary and all the fun things. I'll try to add you (can't work out how it works) but please feel free to add me

Has anyone got any tips on training your dog to go jogging with you? Been thinking about getting Norman out with me for a while. Might just tire him out enough to stop bugging my parents dog all the time even after a big walk together.

I'm at around 1400, don't really eat exercise calories if I have any. Feel free to add me! I love playing around to see what I can eat with my calories and coming up with new ideas.

So it looks like little and often seems to be winning so far? Does it make you guys more determined to stick to it?

Charity shops didn't even cross my mind! What's happened to me? Some of my favourite bits are from charity shops.

Ooh or a new fun kitchen gadget? It's practical at least?

I'm so torn on clothes. I loathe to spend money on something I hopefully won't be using very long but on the other hand, yay new clothes. Maybe a winter knit. Still great even when oversized?

I have two soft boiled eggs and 25-30g of spinach. Fills me right up

My weight fluctuations are nuts. I use an app called Happy Scale to even them all out so I can look at the overall trend. For example, last Friday I hit half a stone loss and had a big family event over the weekend so decided to come off counting for it. Weighed myself Monday morning and that whole half a stone was back…

I'd double check your pesto if I were you. If it's made with proper Italian parmesan then it's not even vegetarian! Most of the cheaper, more common brands are made with cheap Italian hard cheese and they're usually ok but seriously double check. PROPER PESTO IS NOT VEGETARIAN or just make your own. It's so quick and easy.…

It's so normal. I lost 7 pounds in about 2 weeks then gave myself a weekend off counting for a big family party & BBQ. I didn't go way way over the top but when I weighed myself yesterday morning, 6 of those seven pounds we're back on. In my head that's due to all the sodium and alcohol I consumed over the weekend. Old me…

I've only been using happy scale for about a week but I love it! Already hit my first milestone and about to hit the second. Makes it much more attainable for me. Less daunting. AND it really suits my habit of weighing every day.

Hey Littleowl101, I think we're in a pretty similar boat tbh. Our CW and GW are roughly the same and I've got blood disorders too ("thick" blood, LOL) I'm sorry to hear how bad it got! At least you've managed to figure it out and handle it. I work 9am - midnight/1am every day (no breaks, family business) and twice a week I…

I didn't know that. I'll have to start using Turkey in place of chicken. I try not to take tablets anymore than I have to. Multivitamins and supplements seem unnatural to me. There must be a way to get it all from proper sources.
-
Let me know how it goes. I found it online a while back, decided to give it a go and now it's one of my favourites.

+ 1 million for the shimmy shimmy ya reference!!!

I never even thought about that aspect of it! Would be very interesting to see how a high/low carb day shows itself on the scale the next day. Same goes in relation to whether or not I had a glass of wine or the amount of water I drank.

I think I'm being a lot more realistic this time round. I did great last time. Lost two and a half stone then put back on a stone during the down time. This approach should keep me on the straight and narrow. It's very interesting to see how different methods work for different people

I agree. There's something about numbers and data and graphs that I love. Guess that's the scientist in me. The lovely downward graph is the best sight ever!
