  • New to FitBit. Just started using the Charge 2. fitbit.com/user/3XLZVQ
  • Walt Disney World Dopey Challenge in January with a couple of mid training cycle halfs thrown in for fun.
  • I would recommend the New Polar M430. I had nothing but problems with Garmin. I currently wear the Suunto Ambit3 Peak ( way to much watch for what your looking for). How ever, if my training for something other than an ultra, I wear my old Polar M400
  • Add me also. Don't really log any food anymore. It was be impossible to log everything I eat (training for ultra's will make you to eat everything in sight). I love all things running and like to see what other runners are up to.
  • Out for an afternoon run
  • March 5th Little Rock Marathon.
  • It went really well. My times where not the fastest, but I was there to have fun. Yes, I completed the half on my own at 5:30 Saturday morning in the rain and wind. Did 8 laps of the 1.7 mile loop around the Port Orleans resort with about 100-150 other runners. That probably the best running "event" I have ever attended.
  • I love running for all of these same reasons!!!!!
  • Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is over. Dopey Challenge completed. 5K = 31:47 10K = 1:03:33 13.1 = 2:32:12 (unofficial due to runDisney canceling the half due to lighting potential) A lot Dopey runners got together and ran our own race. 26.2 = 5:00:55 (weather reared its ugly head again on this one, start time temp was…
  • Agree 100%. I have used all of these devices also and the Suunto Ambit 3 Peak is the best and most reliable of any GPS fitness device I have used.
  • If Android is your thing you might consider the Polar M600. It has all the features you are looking for and the software is based Android based.
  • You are correct. It will only connect to one bluetooth device at a time, thats the way the bluetooth protocol is written. It will however, connect to multiple Ant+ devices at the same time. It will all connect to bluetooth and Ant+ simultaneously. The Beat App will recognize the TICKR as a bluetooth HRM under Settings>HR…
  • I use the TIKR HRM I have had it connected to the Wahoo Fitness app, the Strava app, the Polar beat app, the Polar M400, V800, the Garmin FR 230/235the Suunto Ambit 2R and 3 Peak with no problems. Bluetooth / Ant+ connectivity is great no matter the platform. The only complaint I have is a little chafing while wearing the…
  • I have run a couple of ultra's and it was the hardest thing I have ever done. You have to slowly build up to that distance. My weight slowly increases every time I start training for a race. I feel the need to eat everything in sight the more my mileage increases. Just think of the increased caloric intake as fuel for your…
  • I run in Merrell Bare Access for everyday use and Altra Instinct for my long runs. The Hoka's have way to much cushion for me.
  • My wife just surprised me with a registration for the Dopey Challenge at Disney World in January. Not quite sure if she is trying to kill me or just wanted a trip to Disney?!?!? So, that's what I'm training for along with a local half and full in October.
  • Merrell Bare Access 4. Just ordered my 4th pair from Amazon. The other 3 have over 600 miles each.
  • I have the Forerunner 235. I the only thing I have downloaded from Connect IQ and use on regular basis is the Single Run Field data screen. It provides Heart Rate, Cadence, Timer, Distance, and Current Pace all on one screen. On the second screen I use avg pace, lap distance, and lap time.
  • Thats a kick *kitten* time!! I see Boston in your future fo sho!!
  • I am a middle of the pack runner that is currently training for my first ultra marathon (a 50K). I really have fell in love with this sport over the last year. I truly believe that anyone can run and have fun at it. I think everyone here started at one point with a run/walk program (I still use one for my long runs). Good…
  • Another vote Strava!!!
  • Not vegan either. But, I am seriously contemplating making a move in that direction. I have cut out all red meat, pork, and dairy (expect cheese, that's a hard one for me). The next logical step is getting rid of poultry and fish. But baby steps I guess. I am currently training for a 50K in a couple of months and then a…
  • @whatmerunning i also had a moment of stupidity and signed up for a 50K. Problem is its in Arkansas in July, which usually equals 100 degrees and 100% humidity. The only saving grace is the start is at 7:00 pm.
  • Add me also https://connect.garmin.com/modern/profile/gsh0824
  • Ran a local 5K this morning and came out with a 3rd place overall finish.
  • I have the Garmin FR 235 and use the the Single Run Field Data Screen download from Connect IQ on the first screen. It has: Heart Rate Pace Cadence Timer Distance On the the second I use: Average Pace (Total run) Lap Time Lap Distance
  • Yep planning on it
  • Up coming schedule looks like this: 5K - 4/16/16 13.1 - 4/23/16 5K - 4/30/16 50K - 7/23/16 (just so I can call myself and Ultra Marathoner) 48.6 - 1/5/17 - 1/7/17 (Disney World Dopey's Challenge - 5K, 10K, 13.1, and 26.2 on consecutive days) Penciled in for now have not registered yet. I will fill in the summer and fall…
  • Everything seems to be working fine for me. Garmin Connect was down for Maintenance on Saturday/Sunday. other than that no problems.
  • These are the same reasons I returned my 230 and purchased the 235. Absolutely love not wearing a HR Strap on long runs!!
