That's the spirit! I'm looking forward to reading your success story in the future. :)

I'm now just 1 lb away from the goal weight I set myself on MFP. I guess it's time to start checking out the maintenance section!

I'm from the UK but living in the US now. Do I count?

How things that I took for granted in my skinny days will suddenly become a huge deal when I lose the weight I'd gained. Like my collar bones. I've had them for months but I still find myself touching them, exploring them as if to reassure myself that, yes, they are still there. Along with my hip bones. How looking in the…

I got off diabetes medication. My health is my biggest motivator. My sugar is well under control. But I know if I stop what I'm doing, if I slide back into my old bad habits my sugar will start to rise and I'll be back on medication before I know what's hit me. That's all the motivation I need. Plus I like the way I look…

I can't get over how cold I am this winter! In winters past if the temperature was above 25 degrees I felt fine. My thick winter coat would still make me feel toasty. Last night I was out in 35 degree temp with the same coat and I was freezing! This weekend we're going to have an arctic plunge with the low temp getting…

You'll just have to take the dog out together lol!

Those are the best NSV's of all. Nothing silly about it. Congrats!

What a transformation! You are truly inspirational. Great job!

I got off diabetes medication through weight loss and running. My A1C is in the normal range and my fasting sugar is averaging in the 70's and 80's.

I know it's been said many times already but I never imagined I would feel so cold. Especially my hands. Hopefully the trade off will be not sweating so much in the summer.
-
I tend to do that for breakfast. I alternate between Weetabix and oatmeal. For dinner I have maybe 6 or 7 dishes I alternate around. It works for me.

I never imagined that at 47 I would feel better and fitter than when I was 17. Although I was skinny then I wasn't anywhere near as fit as I am now. I couldn't have run 6 miles then but I can now and have done so several times. It's funny that when I was skinny I never noticed I had a collar bone or hip bones. I never paid…

If they put you over your calorie limit walk them off. If you still have calories left just eat to fit the remaining calories into your daily goal. Or just accept you're over for the day. It's one day. It's not going to derail you unless you let it.

It really opens your eyes when you use this site and start logging calories. I used to use the food database and see how many calories the foods I used to eat were. Good luck on your weight loss journey. You can do it. Check out the Success Stories forum. There are a lot of truly inspiring posts on there.

I've walked over 11 miles in two days! I like to run but I have a blister on my right foot and as a diabetic I have to be careful with that. But walking seems ok. Yesterday I walked 5.73 miles (I mapped it out on MapMyRun.) Today I did the exact same walk. There was a time I thought a mile was a long walk...

I'm always happy to help fellow diabetics. Even if you don't want to run, walk. Work out. Go to the gym and lift weights. Everything helps!
-
Yep you've got muscles coming through. Looks great!

Thanks everyone. Pamital, to be honest I don't really watch what I eat that much. Once in a while I'll have a Dunkin Donuts toasted bagel with cream cheese. I still have bread, pasta and other carby foods. I test my fasting sugar every morning and I'm averaging in the 70's and 80's. I guess what has changed is portion…

Yeah, I knew. It was just time. My A1C was 7.2 and the doctor wanted to put me on a second diabetes medication. I'm a type two diabetic. I'd been on Metformin since 2008. When I researched the second drug and found it's strongly linked with causing liver problems I knew it was time to do something good for myself. Now I'm…

Thanks. I actually thought I'd posted this in the latest nsv's thread lol. But I guess it can fit in here. Nobody told me I'd be able to run 8 miles after losing weight hehe
-
I ran 8 miles today! The longest distance I've ever run.

What an incredible transformation. Congrats! You look great!

Congrats!!

This sounds unhealthy and dangerous. And if you manage to stick with it and lose the weight, what then? You need something that's sustainable long term. That's why the CICO system works so well. I've lost 30 lbs so far since I joined MFP and I'm close to goal weight. This is something I know I can continue to work with in…

Health issues can be the greatest motivators. I'm a type 2 diabetic and in April I was able to get off Metformin through running and counting calories. My health was the big motivation and now I've made it a habit. But I know I have to maintain what I'm doing to keep my sugar under control so that remains my big motivation.

If he's helping you with the weights and showing you the correct form and you're happy with him for that then stick with him. He's there to help you with your workout. The fact he doesn't know the nutrition side so well doesn't mean he doesn't know what he's doing in the gym.

I'm going to enjoy the day and not worry too much about calories. But I'm going to make an effort not to go overboard. I don't feel comfortable eating the way I used to eat. I'll probably go for a run in the morning to burn off some calories in advance. Especially as the temperature will be in the 60's.

An hour weights and strength training. 50 minutes on treadmill walking and running on an incline. 25 minutes on the elliptical.

From the fastest to the longest! Yesterday I ran my fastest 4 mile run. Today I had my longest run ever. 6.5 miles! I only intended to do my usual 4 miles but at the end of it I felt I still had more in me. I thought I would only do one extra mile. Instead I ran an extra two and a half miles. Right now I feel I could…
