I use a Garmin HRM and Garmin Connect and I find that sometimes my stats just don't make sense at all. The funny thing is that it is often when it reads a HR that seems way too high. The training effect of 1 also does not make sense for that HR. You will normally see a direct correlation between your average HR, recovery…

HAHAHA I always thought I was a very special kind of idiot!

I did not make my 125 mile goal this month, due to Thanksgiving prep and getting sick! I know Christmas is looming, but I should do better knowing my marathon is in January! So I'll put myself down for 140 this month.
-
I am doing my first marathon in January and scared stiff! But at some stage after doing a few HM's it just seems like the logical next step! It may be something I do ONLY.ONCE!! The 18 mile long run yesterday was fairly unpleasant!

I find a short slow recovery run with loads of stretching thereafter the best way to deal with that post-race stiffness!

We were watching the semi-final between South Africa and New Zealand on TV and skyped the game with a phone in front of the TV to my step-daughter in Thailand. That was quite fun as well!
-
Mmmm you guys should start by competing with South Africa at 7's without trying to intimidate us in Las Vegas with Fighter Jets flying over LOL. Don't worry - we are also hurt by the Blacks (and Japan, but that's another story!) Sorry, no, I don't play rugby, but I am a fanatical supporter of South Africa and the Eagles…

Congratulations that is awesome!! And a great time as well. Your photos are beautiful! You look happy and healthy. I am training for my first marathon at Disney World in January and scared stiff, so it is great to hear you enjoyed yours! I did the Disneyland Pixie Dust (10km and HM) in May this year and had a blast! You…

I am a runner!!!!!

I beat my 100 mile target in October by 13 miles, so I think I should be good for 125 miles this month. Although I have not run this month yet! Ran a HM in New Orleans on Saturday, recovered on Sunday, traveled home yesterday and got home so late last night I did not run this morning. Hope I join all you busy beavers…
-
Thanks for the advice! Appreciate it! I have a HM this week-end in New Orleans and then I'll turn my attention more fully to my prep for January. All of a sudden it feels a lot closer than I am comfortable with! I only dream of the mileage you are putting in, so I'll have to up that quite a bit!
