Hi guys and gals. I’m Karen. Insanely busy Mum of three awesome kids. I work full time as a nurse in a high care needs nursing home. I try to lift relatively heavy weights three times a week (StrongLifts 5x5) I have a tendency to swear post random crap. I’m an Aussie. I live in a beautiful part of the world. Feel free to…

Ooh you posted previously in Australia Day!! Awesome day lol. Especially seems as I’m an Aussie. How are you doing with your self motivation?
-
Welcome back!!
-
Operation MILF. I love it  Adding you purely for your awesomeness
-
Hi!! Welcome to the awesomeness of the mfp forums. Best of luck with bettering yourself  With an awesome attitude anything is possible
-
I’m not a night shift nurse, I’m on the opposite :) 12 hour day shifts. You guys totally rock my socks!! For everyone that reckons night shift as a nurse is boring I say pfft. Ps hi to other nurses!!!!! Edited to add: oops I forgot to mention that I work out before my shift. It makes the day extra awesome
-
Sorry!! Two more: I want to be smaller than my b!tchy sister in law that has picked on me for my weight since grade 9. Super petty I know but I want my husband’s mates to be jealous the he has the sexy as fluff wife
-
Omg. I read that as I want to fit into my blue dress again. I was about to say “me too!!” I have a sexy as fluff blue dress that is sitting in my wardrobe tormenting me
-
I’m short. I want to be little as well as short. I also want to trip people out with how strong I am for my size.
-
My health insurance offers a similar deal. My Apple Watch and health app are linked to an app they provide. The benefits in my opinion are pretty awesome. I get around it by lifting weights on seperate days to cardio. But that’s me.
-
Hi!!!! You’ve got this!! Third times a charm
-
Are we saying yes???
-
Hi! I’m Karen. I also work out at home but only because I’m an antisocial butthead who doesn’t like lifting in front of other people. I get in a weights sesh before work 3 days a week and try to get my lazy dog out for a run on the other 4 days. My best “diet” tip would be to meal prep
-
Holy moley!!!! That’s a whopping great fantastic loss!!! Well done.
-
Wowee congrats on your loss so far!! I’m guessing you’re smart enough to know that abs are made in the kitchen and not through spot toning. Your body will lose weight from where it wants in the order it wants.

By working with both my Physiotherapist and a PT, I got over the fact that I was waaaaay less for than I assumed by busting my butt at each workout. My stubbornness eventually prevailed lol. There are no shortcuts.
-
I’m not sure if the rules let me answer on your thread, but I just wanted to say that yep. The slower I eat, the more I appreciate my food. The more I appreciate it, the less I seem to be able to eat  Win win

^^^^^ I like that one!!!

Hi guys, my name is Karen. I live in the beautiful town of Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia I am 156cm tall (approximately 5’) I weigh 75kg (165lbs) My starting weight was 83kgs (182lbs) I have only just realised (duh lol) that there are more people than myself that eat OMAD My day is like this: 430am - get up, either…
-
I used to religiously follow 5:2. Then I started lifting weights and found I was just too hungry to keep it up. Lately I have discovered that due to my insanely busy work day i think I am inadvertently intermittent fasting. I have a coffee for breakfast at about 6am. I start work at 7. Then the next thing I know it’s about…
-
I finally hit 50kg at 5 reps!!! I’m getting there slowly but steadily.
-
I’m a nurse. 1 work 10 shifts a fortnight and I start work at 7am. I get up at 4.30am. Do my StrongLifts 5x5 - that takes about 45 minutes. I’m showered and dressed for work by 6am. Pack the kids and my lunches. Put out mr 5’s school uniform. Kiss the two younger kids goodbye at 6.30 and go to work.
