  • Thank you everyone! Feeling much better tummy-wise fortunately and I appreciate the information. I was curious.
  • I have similar allergies and I seem to find more than enough calories in processed foods! Ha. Though, I am trying to cut down on the processed foods, eating more nuts, beans and meats for me has helped.
  • I have to buy them 5 dozen at a time because my boyfriend and I go through them at the same rate you do!

  • I joined a gym years ago when I first noticed I had gained a little weight, I got a trainer there and I really liked him because he did circuit training and strength training type exercises with very little cardio (he'd have me HIIT for like 10 minutes maybe). But then he quit that gym to work at a different gym and I…
  • I 100% agree!!!! There is no special formula. It's not about fitting into a dress in 3 months. It's about making calculated changes, every single day of your life for the rest of your life. Make "Educated guesses" on how/what/how much you should be eating and how/what/how much you should be exercising, do that for 6 weeks,…
  • ^^ I put mine up there :) It does vary day to day though. If I'm particularly exhausted, my body definitely can't lift as much, so my normal routine is to pick up a weight and try it. If it's too heavy where I can't even do one, I go down one, and do 4-5, then move on to another exercise, do the same thing, do 4-5 and I do…
  • I wouldn't gain at all if I stopped tracking. I stopped tracking for 6 months in 2014 and I maintained around 173-175 lbs. I maintained my weight at 127-133 lbs for my entire adult life, except for the last 2.5 years where other circumstances (health related) interfered. I'm only counting calories because I don't know the…
  • I am about 170 and my first goal is 145 because that'll put me in "normal" BMI. Then i'll decide what more to lose from there. Feel free to add me! I like keeping my cals as high as possible while still losing :)
  • I was a Div. I athlete in college so I had to lift weights for many years, or I'd be kicked off the team. I hated every second of it. It was miserable. Just thinking about having to go to the weight room depressed me. I've been a runner my whole life and that's what I loved doing... I resisted weight lifting from the time…
  • ^^ Same with me... If I never had to pee, I'm pretty sure I'd live in bed. I love sleeping.
  • haha... didn't know what they were, but after a quick Google image search, i could think of at least one... ;)
  • It takes me forever to log anything I don't eat daily. It's an enormous headache. But, I think of it like traffic... I gotta take a deep breath, deal with it & get thru it, if I wanna get paid...
  • my arms. i've lost like only 2 lbs but i notice completely in my arms & nowhere else.
  • It took me a lot to adjust to the idea that me and my bf's worlds don't revolve around one another. If they did, we'd both have pretty unhealthy habits by leaning on one another to eat too much, snack too much, drink too much etc... Now that I've made definitive guidelines for *myself* regarding what's going to fit into my…
  • I don't understand what you're talking about - Jessamyn Stanley doesn't have an illness or disease. I have no clue what HAES is either... I don't think "everyone is beautiful" and I see Jessamyn as an example of someone who has dedicated themselves the something extremely physically daunting and has excelled. It has…
  • ive seen fitness models with flat butts because they naturally don't have much muscle there. personally, when i get down to like 22% body fat, my butt is all muscle and its enormous - again, genetics. the muscle is always there, and once my body fat goes down, you can really see it.
  • youre my twin!
  • That's an interesting way to look at it. I calculated that when I reach my goal weight if I continue light activity I'd have to eat 1850-1900 calories to maintain. That sounds like SO much, which is awesome! I remember trying to lose weight last year and going down to eating 1500 calories a day and just feeling starving,…
  • I use a food scale, I'm pretty good at calorie counting. Considering I have lost a little over 2 lbs in the last month, I am quite sure that I am counting calories very successfully, but if it turns out that in the next 30 days I don't lose anything or I start gaining, I will definitely take your advice and give myself a…
  • Wow! Yes, I was wondering about this too. I'll take the TDEE of 2275 or so. I read that once you lose 5 lbs, you have to re-calculate the TDEE and decrease calories.
  • Thank you for your comments! Welllll I'm not so proud to say that at first I *did* cut right down to the 1200 cals/day on recommendation from a friend who lost 80 lbs (and has kept it off for over 10 years, good for him!) by eating 1200 a day and walking 90 minutes a day for like 7 months. What I realized is that my body…
  • thank you! honestly i've never been able to stick with an exercise program as well as i am now. i think i was killing myself with trying to do loads of cardio, when in reality doing weights makes me *feel* like a new woman, even though i look like the same ol dumpy woman i looked like a month ago ;)
  • a PF opened a half-mile from my house. Instead of continuing to drive almost 3 miles daily to 24 Hour Fitness, and pay THREE TIMES what PF charges, I dropped my 24 membership and I've been going to PF for 2 months now. I love it. I run to the gym and back home, I don't ever eat anything there, though I've also never seen…
  • This is just my personal opinion from experience working in the medical field with many doctors, and having many good friends as physicians: They don't learn much of anything about nutrition and weight loss in medical school. My advice would be to not go to a general doctor to talk about weight loss, or nutrition. Look for…
  • I don't get munchies when I smoke, so I am of no help here! I have heard different strains enhance munchies and some subdue them, so maybe look into buying a different strain??
  • If I were you, don't set a date. Just set small goals daily "I will stay under my calorie goal today" or "I will run/walk 5 miles today" or whatever the goal is... As long as you set small goals and stay on course, you'll get to your goal weight but everybody's bodies and lives are different, so some people may lose 50 lbs…
  • I love drinking! I drink 2-3 nights a week. In college, I never drank. I actually never drank until I was 21 and had graduated college. But, now it's definitely part of my life. Alcohol has NEVER caused weight gain for me, and it has NEVER inhibited weight loss for me. I've only been tracking on MFP for 20-something days…
  • It took me a lot to realize that my bf and I CAN eat different dinners. It's the only way I will lose weight. He eats pizza and chinese food like its his job. I can't do that every day and stay within my calorie goals. Last night, he made a pizza and I had 1 slice. Just one. And I made sure to weigh it. Tonight, I made my…
