322 here and feeling very overwhelmed about the long road ahead.

If you buy avocados that are hard, just let them ripen up a bit on the counter. Check them once a day and when they start to get soft, pop them in the fridge. They will last several days. If you are looking to eat an avocado the same day you buy it, select a softish one. Hope this helps. Avocados are awesome!!

I meant to say add an avacado on the side, not mixed with the egg.

I always have plenty of hard boiled eggs on hand. Great for egg salad or just plain with a little salt. Add avacado, also with a little salt, and it makes a nice little lunch. Portable too.

Vodka with club soda and some lime. I also drink some flavored vodkas with no problem.

Heavy Whipping Cream. It is delicious.

What festival are you attending?

Also, I like the brain boost I get from the coconut oil.
-
I add refined coconut oil to my coffee, as I do not like the taste of coconut in my coffee. I agree that Kerrygold butter tastes so much better than regular butter. I also add HWC sometimes, depends.

After the first few weeks my weight loss has been slow, but very steady. I am thrilled with that, as I am enjoying the benefits that have been achieved with this WOE

This recipe looks like it is something I can manage. I am looking to avoid soybean/ canola oil. Thanks.

I also have this experience and my response is if I am feeling better and am losing weight why would I want to go back to a " normal" diet? This WOE has become my new normal.

I also struggle with an autoimmune disease, which presents a mix of lupus and SS. I take plaquenil, and have started restasis for the dry eye, as well as artificial tears all day long. My eyelids are acting like sandpaper on my corneas and causing abrasions. Your situation sounds much more serious. I apply hot compresses…

Sucralose definitely leads to increased hunger/ cravings for me. No weight gain though. I limit having it to just a few times a week. I just really enjoy a splash of sugar free vanilla syrup in my iced coffee. Hey, a girl's gotta have a treat  Yikes, prior to this way of eating, I had " treats " all day, everyday.…

Happy Ketoversary!!! Very inspiring post;)

The hub has 2 stents as well as a history of pulmonary embolism. After his second stent was placed within 18 months of his first one, his doc gave us a very stern talking to. His doc wanted him to do " nutritional rehabilitation ". Turns out it was a low carb WOE, limiting carbs to less than 20 grams a day. He is also on…

Low carb was suggested to us by my husband's cardiologist, and my rheumatologist is very supportive as well.

After 3 months or so of eating LCHF, I have increased engery/ more positive mood. I struggle with an auto immune problem and following this WOE has significantly improved my symptoms. Specifically, my joint pain has been greatly alleviated, my "brain fog" is almost non exsistent, I no longer have overwhelming fatigue most…

I use Designer Protein Lite, Vanilla Cupcake flavor, mixed with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. This powder has 5 grams carb, 4 grams protein. It does have sucrolose(splenda) and as such I do limit having it to just once or twice a week. Very tasty.

I think I snack more out of habit rather than actually being hungry. I love being free from constant hunger/cravings!!!!
-
The fact that I am not constantly hungry is amazing to me. I eat 1 or 2 big meals a day(500-600 Cals), and maybe a snack here or there. It is quite liberating not to be ruled by my out of control hunger/cravings. I feel free!!!

My hub and I are not currently eating any fruit(berries, apples, etc). However, we do eat lots of avocado, zucchini, olives. I did not realize those items were considered fruit. I love that I am constantly learning something from this group. Thanks to everyone!!

I am afraid to have a " cheat " meal, day, whatever. The improvement that I have experienced in my health, both mental and physical, has to me been nothing short of amazing. I struggle with an auto immune disorder. Prior to keto, I lived with fatigue, joint pain, mental fog, poor sleep( relying on Ambien most nights). I…

I think my husband would marry bacon if he wasn't already married to me;)
