  • I tried them, and didn't see any difference to what I did without them. My answer is no. What worked for me is strict discipline in terms of the equation calories in vs calories out.

  • I'm in and confident. February was my best month ever at 323k. That is 11k / day, and I have a desk job. I do about 45 minutes to 1 hour of walking about 5 to 6 days per week. Count me in!
  • My Garmin gives me similar readings at about 1C per 10m walked. One vertical meter is approximately 1 calorie; I got that by experiment and calculation.

  • Hi Debbie, Welcome to MFP. I'm on 1610 cal/day and I lost 6.6lb (3kg) in one month. My activity levels are low to moderate, I average about 6,000 steps per day. You can afford to eat a bit more, and your time span should be much shorter.
