You need to figure out why you want to cut calories. You need to find that true reason and set goals and milestones that can help you get there. If the reason isn't really there, you're much less likely to succeed. If you're ready, put your goals everywhere. Remind yourself daily why you're making the lifestyle change. It…

Could not have said it better myself.

Typically squats with weight strain the lower back, as you mentioned. Heavier weight can strain the middle of you back. Like with military press, if the posture is off. I would recommend doing squats with no weight and focus on higher reps. If you don't have pain, you know it's the weight. If you continue to have pain it…

There's a YouTube channel called ToneItUp. That might interest you. They have some muscle stuff and HIIT. Athlean-X is great to help learn how to properly use the weights and get the most benefit out of it. Hope that helps.

Hi Louise! Mike here. Welcome to the team.
-
Best place. Awesome support network.
-
Not hopefully. You will! Set your goals and milestones. 70lbs is a great goal but being able to hit milestones in your journey is key. 5 lbs at first, then 10 more..... good luck!

You can totally do it. The support here is great. Keep yourself accountable for your goals and you'll get there. Good luck!

Happy bday in a couple days!

Welcome!!

@SueSueDio Great post.

If you're serious about this, here a couple tips. - No Excuses! Don't make excuses of why you can't workout or why you can eat extra food - Iterative small changes: don't try to change your whole diet, exercise, sleep routine all at once. Make small little changes and see how it's working. - Set goals and milestones: I…

Hell yeah! That's awesome. Way to kick some *kitten*!

I love how your goal is to live a healthier life style. So much more motivating than '20 lbs.' You gave the Why behind your goals and I love that.

Don't buy stuff you can snack on. Maybe try some protein with chia seeds. It's pretty low in calories but the chia helps make you feel full. Good for ya too.

I think it's awesome you said something. I did that once when some guy racked the dumbbells in the wrong spot. He kind of smirked and started to walk away. I looked at him and said I wasn't kidding. He turned back around and reracked. I can't stand people that don't pick up after themselves.

Definite try not to do things you don't like. That's how you resent going to the gym. Agility ladders, jump rope, and sprints are awesome. I also recommend getting in weights for you're whole body. You can do light super sets that focus on higher reps. That can get your heart rate pretty high. YouTube has a lot of good…

Personally, I'd consider that light. I consider active something more than walking 3 or more days a weeks. I consider very active 5+. The best way to figure out how many is to test it every day. Weight, age, sex, and metabolism all play into it. 10k for me is a different calorie burn than for you. Adjust accordingly to…

Seattle up in the house!

If you don't mind me asking, why? Not judging, just curious.

That's awesome! Congrats!

Welcome! The best thing I've found is add people that post supportive and honest feedback. Use those to motivate each other. I love interacting with the friends I have. Good convos and lots of support and advice.
-
Absolutely incredible. I love seeing the progress people make. Your hard work has paid off fo sho!
-
Hell yeah!! Nice job! That ain't no easy task.

So quick to judge. Making assumptions about people isn't usually the best approach. I'm not devaluing parenting by any means. I said "personally." That means my interpretation of what active means does not include parenting. I would consider that lightly active.

Too bad for him. Some people are unwilling to make changes to reach their goals. They complain but take no action. It's a shame but they are who they are.
-
Hahaha these are quite humorous.

At first this stuff fluctuates a tone. You're also building muscle and gaining bones density. Don't fret. Keep working on your goals of eating healthy and exercising and the fat will come off.

Let's do it!! Wooooo!!
