  • Will do- I'm going to keep using the spreadsheet I think. It helps motivate me to see where I started, where I am and where I want to be. :)
  • I think personally it would be nice to have another group like this- maybe starting fresh though. Keep the spreadsheet, but revamp or make a new group with just the people that want to continue. Then we could invite newbies? Personally I feel like the three of us are the only ones checking at this point. :P
  • I agree- not enough people left in the group! I feel proud of what we accomplished though. Stay strong! I know I'm going to keep at it. BT- best of luck with the weight loss as well as the job search! I wish you and your family well! :)
  • I agree with what BT said. I've tried to get fit multiple times and just kept falling back and settling. This time I had a ton more self control- I feel like it helped knowing others were going to know my failings, ya know? :P You just need to remind yourself every time you feel like falling out of your healthy routine…
  • Thanks you guys! Down two pant sizes. Those jeans I'm wearing in the "after" I couldn't fit into when we started (I had saved then from a couple years ago when I used to wear them..) It feels good just to "feel" more healthier, not just look it, if that makes sense. I have more energy now than I did. I also look forward to…
  • Down 28 lbs since 6 months ago. (Wish I had taken a 'before' photo that showed my thighs- I lost a lot of weight there from running.) Hit my goal. Trying to maintain now. This group definitely helped me stay focused- thank you guys!
  • I'm not sure what a continuation would look like- I've never made a group before. Is there a way to keep this group and maybe change the name since we've already hit V-Day? Maybe do another 6 month challenge (for those of us here from the start it would be a year anniversary from starting!) What do you think BT?
  • Here here! Keep it up- keep moving- keep motivated! >:)
  • One WEEK left guys! V-Day in a week. No matter where you are in this journey, if you are still checking up on this group and still trying then you have made progress. And if you keep trying, you will continue to make progress. Whenever I look at the spreadsheet, I feel proud of not just myself but all of us. Stay strong…
  • Good- I know for me if I'm down it's really easy to fall back into those habits. Good luck in your job search!
  • !!! I'm so sorry- that is the worst. :( If at all possible you should try to stuff your face with water, and exercise that frustration and anger out. I did that with running when I get depressed. Keep your head up BT- being laid off is a really hard hit- but I really believe everything happens for a reason. This just means…
  • Yeah I agree. No matter where we end up, I feel like all of us still here have made a ton of progress. :)
  • My family dr is 50 min away, so I usually go to a walk-in if I'm really sick so I get what your saying about seeing different drs all the time. It sucks. I recommend you get a family dr. for emergencies if possible- this would be a good reason to. Hope it's nothing serious!
  • I'm super pumped! :D This group has helped me so much to stay strong the majority of the way. :) I think it's also helped me create some habits that are way healthier than before we started. So even though the group's goal is ending on V-Day, I'm still in this for life. B)
  • BT I hope your stomach is okay and you are able to stop the cause of the problems. I second Kiismyaces- 3:30am is dedication! Keep it going- we've got a little over a month left for this group's goal :).
  • I know it isn't a quote, but I felt like it was relevant :). Also, I use my running time to often either zone out or think of how to fix any problems- good distraction if I'm tired.
  • I threw out a whole box of smidgens :O
  • What matters now is that you made it through your rough times and decided to keep at this journey- glad you came back
  • Dude, BT, you've almost lost 50lbs since we started! Find something around the house that weighs 50 lbs and pick it up and you'll realize that is a lot to lose- you should be really proud of yourself. Everyone's body is different- you also see your own body every day- and don't forget all that weight isn't just going to…
  • Awesome- sounds like you did well! I have a New Year's get-together that I fear may involve unhealthy foods Thursday night. I need to get past that and then I should be fine. Also, there is a large mixing bowl on my kitchen table full of candies and chocolate that was given to us over the holidays. Looking up each sweet…
  • good ones, BT- I really like the first one. Especially the part about exercising being an anti-depressent- that's really true. I felt so good after each run, and it makes you feel better about yourself that you do it. I can't wait to run outside again in the Spring!
  • \ I eat that special k protein cereal- it's pretty good. I guess adding fatty nuts for protein would up your calories- but almonds might be fine. What about beans? We mash up beans like black/pinto/red kidney and add them to wraps and such. :)
  • Have you tried nuts and cereals high in protein, BT? That and chicken/fish, as well as that pasta that has the protein in it (like that hidden veggie pasta, but with protein) is where I get mine for the most part because I don't eat red meat. The high-protein cereals also make me feel full and regulates my stomach (fiber =…
  • Muscle mass is pretty heavy :) I bet you're doing fine BT!
  • Here's something to motivate everyone- go to our group's spreadsheet and look at your starting weight, and then see where you are now. We've all accomplished so much in only a couple months- keep it up everyone!
  • BT & Amalik- keep it up! I fell back twice but don't let it discourage you. The hardest bit is not caving for those 'indulgences'... if you can seriously do the water trick I swear it helps. Drink a whole glass of water before you eat a meal. Use less butter, 1% milk. Walk farther, move more- you can do it!!! >:)
  • Yay! At least there's a few regulars still checking in. Feel pretty busy myself- kept forgetting to weigh in till Thursday or Friday but still trying to check in regularly. Haven't been running much but keeping track of calories and keeping the deficit helps. I'm of course excited for the holidays, but I almost can't wait…
  • Just thought I'd check in with everyone- hope all of you are not stressing too much as the holiday's approach and are taking time to take care of yourselves. :)
