PS4 Just got Plat. on HorizoZero Dawn, thinking about Nier Automata next, eagerly awaiting Destiny 2.

Had 25 to lose, down 9, hoping by end of summer, trying to get 145. I was doing great then decided to take up jogging and instead of losing, I gained 2 lbs and lost nothing for like 3 weeks even with my diet in check, thankfully in the last 7 days I am down 2.4 lbs so whatever my body was holding onto it finally let go. I…

Problem is the human body is too dang good at adapting, so over time that exercise that used to burn say 300 cals now only burns 250 and so on. Stupid efficient body :D You have to mix things both exercise and diet wise in hopes you drop that last 10-15.

I lost 65 lbs 212->147, and when people ask, I tell them diet is 80% of it, that all the exercise in the world will not make a bit of difference if you don't get your diet in check. I have seen so many coworkers, friends, lost a good bit of weight short term, 3-6 months, but because they don't change their lifestyle, the…

Thank you for the data, that is a bit of time, but as you say it keeps you where you want to be, I have a couple more months before making a decision.

I read up on the concepts but from experience is one faster than the other? Better? Safer in terms of not getting fat, I ready bulk and cut you put on a lot fat potentially. I read recomp is slow, but want to hear some real world numbers not blog / online posts as every article contradicts the one I just read.
-
Sorry if this has been asked and answered, 62 pages... How is this vs bulk cut? Right now my goal is to get back to a weight I was before some injuries and life contributed to a 20lbs gain, once I am back, I do want to either try recomp or bulk and cut as I hear the latter is faster but cutting is pretty sucky?

Why y'all got to make us gamers nerds.. sigh... <returns to playing Horizon: Zero Dawn>

Wine, but I account for it >:)

Next month 42, but no one believes me which I guess is a good thing :p Feel free to add workout 5x a week, trying to get down to the 140s, ~20 lbs to go.
-
I linked to a better article, explains more, anyhow I am suprised by the findings, I use my Vivosmart 3 to guage my daily burn and based on my pretty consisitent 1 or so pound a week loss, it can't be too far off.

Being above the cloud line:

Yep, this cost me 3 months of anguish, I have a desk job, but I am active, workout 5x a week pretty consistently, so silly me chose moderately active in MFP, then I would add activities to MFP and eat back, anyhow I was overeating for months and not losing anything while working my butt off, once I learned the above, I set…
-
Quick Google search, not sure what MFP uses though. Tudor-Locke's research established these categories for healthy adults based on the steps per day they logged. Sedentary Lifestyle Index: Under 5000 steps per day is an indicator of being inactive and sitting too much, which raises health risks. Low Active: 5,000 to 7,499…
-
Same as you I have a desk job, my steps can be anywhere from 3000-14000, I set MFP to Sedentary and let my vivosmart estimate what my burn will be for the day. I eat back some, it really depends on how I feel hunger wise, but I stick to 2000 cals max regardless of what is added back.

Or simply watch an episode of Naked and Afraid and see what happens to their body weight at the end of the challenge.

Not 30 lbs, but a similar experience with prednisone, god it make me hungry all the time.

Scales are usually accurate floors are not, make sure the surface the scale is on is flat. I have 12x24 tile in my master and depending where i place the scale good lord does the result change.

No... :* From browsing the forums you see a pattern of the same people with almost cut and paste replies. I tried to give an option / offer help once in a thread then people with six packs started spouting things from some dudes blog... one even refuted an article co-authored by a MD and nutritionist...

5'7 166, 2500 for me, but I workout 5x a week. With no exercise ~2000 to maintain
-
Are you including BMR in that number? and I think I just found some ones :D
-
Yep.
-
I sometimes get frustrated at the rate of loss, but slow weight loss is healthy weight loss.

Only hotties (females...) to motivate me :D

Just FYI Some of the newer Garmins, vivosmart 3 and fenix 5, can be used for lifting. I start a weight lifting activity and it tracks my reps and sets, you tell it when your done, it counts down a rest period, and you can edit the reps which are usually off, but not always. They try to guess what you did, for easy stuff…

Yes for the simple fact its 80% food...
