Shockingly , after I checked the scales last night, I have 60lbs to lose, so yes, I also would love to have an accountability partner/ group. Feel free to add me.

Same here! after months of not caring I saw my weight in the scales yesterday and nearly had a heart attack! Today I'm here to get the ball rolling, get some accountability buddies, get motivation / inspiration and start the journey.
-
there is another thread about an UK guy looking for buddies, you might want to look it up :-)

Hi, I'm in the UK too and was thinking to do a similar post to yours. I need accountability too and sometimes the time difference can get in the way! feel free to add me if you want

Feel free to add me for motivation/ support. I need to start this journey again and every little helps!

my why: I'm getting older and I am dreading getting health issues: cholesterol, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, diabetes etc. I'm losing agility due to my weight. I don't like they way I look since I put all this weight on. Buying clothes is such a torture! I honestly don't think losing weight will make me…

Hi I'm 46 and have 60lbs to lose and accountability works better for me. Could I join in please?

you might have to stay longer at 1.30 before you can move on.

If you have injuries you need to check your training first. Then your biomechanics. The only people fully qualified to do this are podiatrists and some physiotherapists. Physios can do it but that's not necessarily their specialty ( in the UK). A sales person in a running shop doesn't have the knowledge to deal with people…

Being flatfooted is not the only reason for having problems when running. Best runners in the world are of african origin and black people are flat footed. That's how they are built. If you have problems when running, majority of the time is a training error, running style, bad foottwear and poor biomechanics or a…

No, it's not a hammer toe and having ap toe straighten out it's quite a drastic measure to solve a blister problem. See a podiatrist (foot doctor if you want)
-
If your biomechanics have been checked (by someone propeely trained like an msk podiatrist, nit just a shop assistant ) and you've changed your shoes accordingly then it's a matter of training error or running style. Maybe you need to get a running coach to check these if you've addressed everything else.

What a fantastic job!!! Girl you should be proud of what you've achieved. I think there are so many of us interested on how you did it that it's going to be easier to write here for all to read than answer one by one (in my opinion).

I have been doing S5x5 but I wanted to try something different. I got the book and I'm planning to start in January. If anyone wants to add me, please feel free.

I don't have one yet but I am considering buying one.

I agree with this 100%

Go to a proper running shop where they analyse your gait and can recommend a pair of shoes suitable for you. you can prevent injury with a decent pair of running shoes. Given advice without looking at your running style is not appropriate. Everyone is different and the amazing pair of shoes I wear might cause you pain when…

AsISmile that's great advice thank you. Like everyone said there are people at the gym that would give you advice. However if you can't ask for whatever reason I think the previous post has given you an excellent starting point. Personally: weight lifting all the way to get that definition you want, but then I am not into…

Is it because he lacks confidence in himself? That's my personal previous experience. Maybe he's slightly insecure and you looking amazing threatens him.

Girl take it as a compliment. I'd kill for a body like yours. No, you're not big in any way or shape. If you like what you see, keep going.

Spain, but living in England

A chilles problem? Get it checked

Well done! you must be so proud and happy!

You need to see your doctor or a physiotherapist. Don't mess with your health.

Same as many in this thread, I am the only one trying to lose weight. Me and my partner we both cook, he does not take into consideration my calories intake so when he cooks, I eat less (if packed with calories ) but I don't cook different meals often. I try to cook healthy food, and measure what goes in my plate. For me…

look at your diary. If you are not losing weight, you are eating too much, or too much of unhealthy food. Check what is the setting of your calories intake daily. When I started it was preset to eat something stupid like 60% carbs, 30% fats and 10% protein. I changed it to 50% proteins, 30% carbs and 20% fat and when I…

If he wanted to have friends all he has to do is ask people. That's how I did it, and that's how everyone has done it. Maybe he doesn't want to have friends.

I'm combining cardio with weights. Just started the above mentioned running program (C25K) and have been doing free weights and Body Pump at the gym. I don't just want to lose weight, I want muscle definition and tone.

I'm in my second week only so I am trying to change things slowly. Too many changes at once might equal a recepit for disaster for me, in my opinion. So at the moment I am not drinking litres of Coke as I used to. Yes it was the diet type but still not very healthy. I haven't touched the thing until I went out with friends…

You should be pleased with yourself, you have achieved quite a remarcable weight loss and that's easier said than done. Well done you and keep working, you are a whole lot closer to be rid of risk factors.
