New to this group. So, I will do a combination of indoors and outdoors. Indoors (mostly at work) will be 120 minutes for the month. Outdoors, weather permitting, will be 240 minutes for the month.

heart.org would have LOTS of low cholesterol recipes, FAP2911. I need to use those recipes also.

I do follow the Slimming World eating plan, but not exclusively. I listen to my body. If I want junk, I eat junk until my body says ENOUGH. If i want a HUGE bowl of fruit, i eat fruit. This is what makes sense for me. When I want to be active, I am. When I don't want to be active, I try to make myself do SOME moving. I…

New to this group. Needing support.

My husband likes to simmer chicken in salsa or paprikash sauce. It usually turns out pretty tasty.

emar831, I apologize for saying you still had to do the work. I wasn't paying attention to what i was typing. Could you possibly ask a dietician about the calories before dipping below 1200? That sounds WAY too low, an additional 800 calories to burn a day? I don't know your doctor, but I would get another opinion from a…

it's a well hidden secret. LOL

My thyroid was removed, and I am strictly on thyroid meds for that. My levels are where they are supposed to be, but It's STILL calories in vs calories out. JUST being on thyroid meds isn't a magic pill. You still have to do all the work.

as others said, have you gone to the doctor to be diagnosed? I know you want to lose weight, but this isn't the right way to do it.

While i believe it's PARTIALLY true that exercise itself doesn't help weight loss, it is PROVEN that it does help keep the weight off. as others have said, YouTube is NOT a reliable source for medical things. even WebMD has conflicting info. I truly believe that's it's all CALORIES IN VS CALORIES OUT. except for those with…

Why I want to get into shape: To fit into a booth seat in a restaurant. To walk without huffing and puffing. To paint my toenails without falling over. To wear clothes that don't look like a tent. To put on my socks without too much effort. To bend down and get up without a problem. To go grocery shopping without hanging…

SOOOOOOOOOO, you want to risk your health for a quick fix JUST to win a contest for money?????????? That is not the right motivation.

Even though it gets dark early where I live too, I still take my dogs out for walks. They demand it and i get whining if i don't take them. I don't usually go far, but i know their hearing is better than mine, so i feel safe walking with them.

MABMomma, PLEASE tell me you didn't pay more than $25 for this quack's evaluation????

JUST DO IT, per my husband. he doesn't understand that for me this process is a lot of trial and error. He thinks that i should just change and not have to think about it.
-
I am sorry but you wouldn't understand unless you're in a similar situation. I have had no experience with things like this before, this is my first serious relationship. It's much harder than what you think.[/quote] it is not that hard to say "F*** Y*** and the horse you rode in on". i SERIOUSLY doubt your parents raised…

You NEED to leave him and his abuse. If you don't want to leave him, then don't post on this site complaining about what he says. if you want to be in an abusive relationship, don't complain on a public site.

There are SOME genetics involved, but i TRULY believe it is mostly lifestyle.

This is my Ziggy girl. almost 8 year old beagle mix. She is like most hounds and her nose is to the ground always. therefore, she doesn't make the best walking buddy. But she still gets me out at least twice a day for short walks. This is my Jazi girl (Jazmin's her real name). We are taking care of her for a family member,…

IMHO, cheat "days" are a recipe for disaster. I do much better planning everything. for me, it's calories in vs calories out, daily. now, if i know i am going to overindulge at a special event, i will up the exercising to balance out some of the excess food/drink. but that's as far as my "cheat day" goes.

my issue with this plan is that for the medications i take, which are prescription, i can't take them all at once. some i have to take in the morning, others in the afternoon, and others in the evening. I know that i can drink all the water i want, but.......................

it comes down to CALORIES IN VS CALORIES OUT. if you are expending more calories than you are consuming, you should lose weight. If you like bread, find a way to incorporate it into your eating plan. if you are eating white bread and you feel bloated, change to 100% whole wheat bread and find out if that causes you to feel…

i have the up3, but i don't know if it's charged since none of the lights lit up for the past 4 days i have been charging it. you are welcome to add me. i don't remember my jawbone name

so, what ONE thing can you do today to give you some ME time? I see a dog in your avatar. can you take a 10-15 minute walk with the dog to get some fresh air?

weakness=wine. I love wine. I know that I have to limit it for health reasons, not just weight. I love cheese, but i can control that. I am not into TV like I was a year ago. exercise=just don't want to, but i have to.

Right now, I am working on limiting my beer and/or wine to either 1 12oz/pint beer or 1 6oz glass of wine each night. However, I may be changing that to only allowing myself to drink the above ONCE i have exercised that day for 30+ minutes.
