Here's an excerpt: “One contestant had a torn calf muscle and bursitis in her knees,” Hibbard says. “The doctor told her, ‘You need to rest.’ She said, ‘Production told me I can’t rest.’ At one point after that, production ordered her to run, and she said, ‘I can’t.’ She was seriously injured. But they edited her to make…

Read this: http://nypost.com/2015/01/18/contestant-reveals-the-brutal-secrets-of-the-biggest-loser/ It's really over-edited to make a lot of contestants look like 'fat' whiny losers - many have permanent injuries from over-straining their morbidly obese bodies too far, and some even get other eating disorders from the…

Thanks Pootle - I was wondering whether the groups gave you more motivation, camaraderie and accountability?

Have a salmon fillet with lemon or lime juice and dill, then slap that on a large bed of salad with some low cal salad dressing.
-
Nuts are just a rip-off, I agree.
-
That sounds sooooo disgusting! :/
-
Do you like salads?

Imaging what the skinnier you will be like - in looks, clothes, etc. Plus - yes - 'that four stone isn't going to lose itself' is also a regular mantra!
-
Please add me, I have 56 pounds to lose

Please feel free to add me. I have 4 stone to lose.

I'm liking the idea of a camelpack (which is the same as a fanny pack?) - I didn't think of that one. Yes, I definitely need to up my game in the distance stakes. I've got a 13 miler planned when the weather gets better and I think I can up my regular walks to 2 hours a pop with some smaller walks in there so my bones and…

I like the look of that one - thanks!

Ha ha - yes, walking, not running. But there is a potential 13 mile walk I can do through the centre of Edinburgh, Scotland (Water of Leith) which I am going to try to really see what I am made of. When the weather gets better of course!!
-
Thanks - its going around a lake in England, so I'm kind of assuming that there won't be a cut-off (ie, they won't be cutting off roads to the traffic, etc).
-
I'm with you on the socks - and stocking up on compeeds. I am hoping to weigh a little less by then (it's in June) so may be able to walk a little quicker too - say 3.5 mile an hour?
-
Thanks! Good advice there.
-
Sorry, should have made it clear - its an official walking marathon (I hope!) - not planning to just tag along to a running one and walk it.
-
Its walking a marathon not running.
-
The longest walk I have done in one sitting is 2 hours 10 minutes.
-
Thanks! Yes, I think that this may take a long time. About 9 hours at 3 miles per hour!
-
Thanks! I'll check that out, it looks good. I walk in trainers at the moment which are really comfy.
-
Yes, it's an official event with lots of people. Will definitely take a lot of water too.
-
Hi - feel free to add

Bump

Safety pins?

Opens the pores - good for the skin?
-
I think you may have worked that out wrong....

I've just walked 5.8 miles in the snow! Very invigorating. Plus depending on where you live, there's a lot of nice scenery around which I imagine is more interesting to look at than a living room.

42 here - hoping to lose 56 pounds but think it may take me a year though!

A good healthy diet and plenty of exercise at your weight seems doable. Maybe see if you can fit in some long walks to burn off a few more calories? Make sure you eat enough to give you the energy for the exercise though!
