  • @amberellen12 Maybe you could use an actual beer can and rinse it out. Then, just fill it with what you want? I hate that you will get bugged and feel pressured to fit in!
  • I haven’t lost all the weight yet, but I’m down 70 pounds. My belly has gone down quite a bit and I recently discovered something. I’m very short and thought that was to blame for me not being able to reach the top cabinets/shelves in my kitchen. I recently realized I can reach the stuff on them now and it dawned on me…
  • Patience is so hard! I am a little over 1/3 of the way to my goal of losing 200 pounds, so I should have the patience of a saint when this is all over! I need to follow this thread so I can cheer when you do hit it! It will be soon, but it’s like Christmas morning anticipation.
  • My husband and I thought this was funny. This used to be our liquor cabinet. It was filled to the brim with liquor bottles and most of them were emptied within a week or two of buying them. When I quit drinking my husband quit too because he mostly only drank when I drank. Unlike me. I drank whether he was with me or I was…
  • Welp, got my lab results back! Last year at this time I was looking at pre-diabetes and really high cholesterol. I’m happy to report that I’m no longer on the road to diabetes! It was inevitable and only a matter of time (And not even a lot of time.) had I continued on my path and not lost some weight. My high cholesterol,…
  • Kind of sounds like a crime against chocolate to me. Idk... I’m one of those weirdos that finds avocado to be just okay.
  • You can’t control how your mom acts, what she says, or how she treats you. But you can control how it affects you. I think it will take time, but you need to keep reminding yourself that whatever is driving her actions and behavior is her problem and not yours.
  • I’m several days into my second diet break. I’ve got them planned out in my calendar every 3 months (I’ve got a lot of weight to lose.). This one was easier going into than the first one. It only took me a couple of days to get over the uneasy feeling that I was going to lose all control. After I get past that feeling I…
  • Dang. That’s deep! I sometimes have dreams where I forget I’m sober and so I drink. Then, I suddenly remember my sobriety and I’m absolutely crushed that I drank again. This last time, though, I didn’t forget and I didn’t drink. So, that was nice. But the other times I would wake up in a panic until I realized it was just…
  • I couldn’t keep up with last month’s thread, but maybe if I get in early on this one I’ll be able to! Haha! So, I’m 229 days sober and in the process I have lost 70 pounds (Through counting calories, but I was such a binge drinker before that I was never able to count calories or stick with any plan to form healthier…
  • Not everyone is here to lose weight. Some people are here to maintain and others are here to gain.
  • Feel free to add me! My calorie goal is set at around 1300, but I eat a lot of my exercise cals back. I can be all over the place, but generally between 1800-2200 a day. It makes me happy to see diaries of folks who eat. Lol!
  • “Doctor that specializes in food allergies” That just sounds odd to me. Why word it this way over and over? Also, my allergist has an awesome sense of humor and I think he would be highly amused by this thread.
  • I started out at 330 and am now 265 just like you, only I started in October... I’ve got quite a bit of loose skin and wobbly bits here and there. I walk 3-4 miles (about one to one and a half hours at a pace that challenges me but isn’t too much) on M-F and take it easy on the weekends. I know we’re different people with…
  • My allergies started kind of that way. With itchy hands (and feet) and redness. Eventually I started getting hives. I went to an allergist and it turns out I developed an allergy to a bunch of grass types and some trees. It might not be allergies for you, but spring/summer is when all that wonderful pollen starts showing…
  • Same. If I didn’t weigh daily and input it into a trending app I don’t think I would have noticed the pattern to my weight loss. I see a big loss 2 weeks in a row, then it goes up a couple of pounds, then it goes up a pound or two more, then a big loss for 2 weeks in a row for a new low. Edited to clarify- I see 2 weeks of…
  • I started out by walking around my living room. I aimed to add a few minutes to my time each week. I would also do short bursts of a minute or two of walking around my house every hour. In just 5 weeks I went from excruciating pain and only being able to walk for 6 minutes to being able to walk 30-45 minutes with minimal…
  • I live in fear of stuff like this. I was a heavy sleep walker until I was 12 and now I only sleep walk during times of great stress. I’ve never cooked or eaten while sleep walking, but I have a tendency to go outside and wander off. My poor mother never got much sleep.
  • It IS hard to stay in the now sometimes! That’s why I am trying to focus on the process. The day-to-day little steps that will eventually get me there. It’s okay to dream about what my life can be like, but I’m also trying to remind myself to enjoy what it is like today. I’m working hard toward my goals and that is…
  • I forgot about this! Down 8 pounds so far in April. Group total: 75.9
  • Have some dang patience.- Me to myself every single day
  • Here’s my most recent progress pics. I’m wearing jeans! I can wear jeans again! Haha! This is 6 months of calorie counting and walking. Down 60 pounds. No, I’m not breaking any weight loss records. Yes, someone my size could lose a lot faster. But, I’m in this for th long haul, so I’m doing in a way that doesn’t make me…
  • We were really poor, so my parents had to get inventive sometimes. We had a side dish they made several nights a week. It was one of those packets of ramen noodles, but instead of making it a soup they would drain the water, put in some margarine, and then the seasoning packet. So, it became like a noodle side. It actually…
  • It IS delicious! I haven’t made it in so long, but I’m thinking about busting it out as a treat one night soon.
  • It might help to change your question. You are asking why can’t I, but try asking why won’t I. You can build a plan of attack from there. Once I answered that question for myself and faced my reality I was able to put a plan in place and find ways to make changes I could live with forever.
  • It comes down to a few things for me. One is that I made changes that I can live with. If it’s too hard for me to do every day for the rest of my life then it’s not something that is going to make me successful in this endeavor. That way when I have a day where I want to eat the thing and the thing cancels out my deficit…
  • A lot of people mention cinnamon toast, but we usually had tortillas on hand instead of bread. But I would take the tortillas and make my own version of cinnamon toast with them in the oven. They would puff up and get crispy. My brothers begged me to make them for them every single day. They were delicious!
  • @MzCara148 Congrats! Woo hoo! I know exactly what you mean though. I’m still trying to get used to jeans. I’ve worn nothing but elastic waistband and yoga type pants for several years now.
  • I used to love DDR! I was thinking about doing a 1 month pass to Just Dance 2018 to see if I’d like it (I had the 2016 game but lost it.). It’s not quite as fun to me as DDR with the mat, but it’s still pretty fun.
