Others have mentioned that exercise helps with depression. I'd like to reiterate that. Also, I have read that exercise can be as helpful as medication in helping depression. Commit to walking just 10 minutes. You can walk longer if you are enjoying yourself, but the knowledge that it is only a ten minute commitment might…

Diet breaks! Calorie count for 12 weeks. 2 weeks off. Repeat till done. The mental break break is nice. Eating at maintenance for a couple of weeks is nice. Note, this is eat at maintenance, not go nuts and Eat All The Things. This is what I have been doing. It is working for me so far. I am down 40 pounds and BMI is in…

I log all calories. When I use the "0 calorie" cooking spray, I count one mississippi, two mississippi, and use 20 calories per second. The package says 0 cals per serving and that a serving is 1/4 of a second. Since up to 5 cals can be rounded to 0 cals, I am assuming that one serving is 4.999 or something equally…

1. Wanting to eat more, especially in the beginning, is not neccessarily hunger. You are just not used to doing things differently. 2. Hunger won't kill you. When I was gaining weight, I never experienced hunger because I was eating all the damn time. It is nice to remember what hunger feels like. 3. Wait. You get more…

1. Don't cut out foods or food groups. Just stay within your calorie limit. So, eat *some* ice cream, not a whole lot of ice cream. 2. Take a calorie counting break for a week or two and eat at maintenance. The mental break is nice. 3. Learn to lucid dream and dream about eating whatever you want.

Increase it to 1500 and exercise.

Yogurt, berries, and bananna. Eggs. Pizza. Oatmeal. Or skip it completely so I can eat more for lunch or dinner.

Not! But, I eat at maintenance for two weeks after 12 weeks of calorie counting because I need the mental break.

I used to drink way too much diet soda. At the worst, around 13 cans a day. While, I believe, it is fine from a weight loss perspective I do believe it shouldn't be consumed in such large quantity or even at all. From a weight loss perspective, I believe it is ok because it doesn't have any calories and I effortlessly…

I only pay attention to calories and I ignore fat, carbs, etc... I agree with those who have said that weight loss results from a sustained calorie deficit. I have found that if I don't want to be hungry, I end up eating pretty healthy. It just works out that way because I am trying to get the best bang for my calories.…

I think diet soda is fine from a weight loss point of view, but soda is terrible for your teeth because of the low ph. I used to drink a crazy amount of diet soda but I gave it up a couple of years ago because my dentist said I should.
