  • And yay for learning to be gentle with yourself! That is a big win!
  • @kiteflyer105 God bless you! You are doing your best and facing the hard things. I hope the extra medication makes a difference. I’ve struggled with depression since childhood and it truly takes everything out of you. I know there are consequences to using food for comfort, but you’ve needed it, and it has carried you…
  • @jenbroussard71 you’ll get there soon! You’re doing great. I saw all your knee issues—I also have a torn meniscus, though I haven’t gotten it scoped yet so I don’t know the extent. I’m working with a physical therapist to address stability issues that made me prone to the injury in the first place. I highly encourage PT if…
  • Hi everyone! It’s been several months since I last posted. At the time, I had finally gotten to 10 pounds lost. Now I’m at over 30! Age: 30 SW July 2024: 228.8 CW: 197 UGW: 150 ish and lots of muscle I lost the first ~22 pounds with strict calorie counting, but got frustrated when the scale was slowing down. I have blood…
  • Hi everyone! Between vacation and illness, it’s been several weeks since I checked in! Anna 30 years old Starting weight, early July: 228.8 Current weight: 214.5 We went to visit family and godfamily out of state at the end of September, and I really struggled to log all my food. So I just did my best to eat intuitively,…
  • Hi everyone, my weight has gone up and down all week, but I haven’t gone backwards. What is hard is just the fatigue of dieting! It’s real. We’re about to go on vacation too, and I’m honestly not at all worried about straying from my diet per se (we’re visiting and staying with people who have healthy diets), but it will…
  • @jenbroussard71 I am so impressed that you have been able to keep up with at-home workouts! I have never been able to do that, but it’s such an asset to have that discipline, and I so admire people who make the time and space in their homes to work out. That’s the kind of thing that will keep you active long-term. Bravo!
  • Ha! I meant to say my first weigh-in in early July, not August. I am playing the long long game here! ;)
  • Just need to share that this morning I finally crossed the threshold of losing 10 pounds since my first weigh-in in early August!! I truly can’t believe it. This has been a really challenging week with having my period and just feeling weary of all the measuring and weighing my food and careful attention to my macros…but…
  • Thank you so much for this! What a kind post, and so inspiring. And it reminds me that yes, I have an incredible network of friends here and a really rich life. My job as a stay at home mom is intense and delirious, but rewarding and I’m finding space to explore things I don’t think I would have been motivated to in the…
  • Hi everyone! Thanks as always for the new thread. I’m Anna, 30, mom of 2 littles. Starting weight: 228.8 (early July) Current weight: 221.3 UGW: 150 and lots of muscle I am steadily losing 1 pound/week, which was my goal. What I’m looking forward to this fall: cooler weather! I do so much better getting my fitness in when…
  • Hi everyone! Tiny check-in. This last week was absolutely insane because I was in charge of decor for our church’s annual blueberry festival. I was diy’ing a huge project all week, plus our kitchen is being remodeled so our house is in shambles. So I just could not manage tracking or working out since Thursday. It’s been…
  • Hi everyone! I am happy to say that I seem to finally be making progress with my calorie deficit. I was feeling frustrated because I was stuck at the same weight for a good 3 weeks, but I started losing slowly once I stopped eating back my exercise calories. I have started working with a registered dietician who is very…
  • I am not having sugar cravings or headaches! I’m easily able to resist sweets. I am craving fruit instead and loving all the stuff in season. This is something I literally never thought possible for me.
  • Hi! I’m Anna. 30, mom of 2. Current weight is around 226-227 lbs (I’ve been stuck here for a while!). UGW is 150. 🌞This month we are inspiring ourselves and others with all our hard work! There's only one month left of summer(for most of us, at least)! How do you hope to spend it? Any plans lined up, big or small? - I’d…
  • Hi everyone! I’m enjoying reading everyone’s comments and updates. My app is a little slow and buggy so I’m not going to give a super detailed update, but I’m looking for a little perspective and encouragement and advice. I’m 18 days into tracking on MFP, and in this 18 days I’ve essentially lost 1.5 pounds, which is…
  • Thanks all! I went with a chest monitor and if it doesn’t work out, that’s what Amazon prime is for. I’m looking forward to getting some better cardio data!!
  • I encourage you to 1) definitely talk to your doctor, but (2) check out the Run-Walk-Run method book by Jeff Galloway! It doesn’t have to be all or nothing, and mixing up running and walking has been honestly life-changing for me lately, especially trying to run in the heat. You can get his book super cheap on Abe Books.
  • I often have dinner leftovers! I know that’s weird but I’ve become intolerant to eggs and I’m too sensitive to things like oatmeal blood sugar-wise, so I often end up eating something like rice and protein and vegetables, or a small portion of something plus a protein shake.
  • Hi! I’m 30, a mom of two littles, and I currently weigh 228 pounds. I really am just hoping and praying I can lose 5 pounds right now. I never have lost 5 pounds successfully, because I really haven’t stuck with anything long enough. My goal weight is 150, but I have a really hard time believing I’ll ever be able to get…
