I'm not one for pictures, but I'm down 125(ish) Lbs since August 2015 and still working at it. It does get to be a slog. In those moments, be kind to yourself. Maybe the goal that week is just to maintain and give yourself a little break from being "so perfect all the time". THAT IS OKAY. I've lost my weight by simply…

I started my weight loss at 374 Lbs. I was afraid to go to the gym and simply started walking around my neighborhood. It wasn't easy (the weight compounded by severe anemia) but soon it got easier and I pushed myself to walk further. I joined the gym (the YMCA) about a year later when I was down around 275 Lbs. I was…

Good luck w/ your weight loss. I'm also trying to lose 200+. I've already lost 108 (it has been since August 2015). My advice is to set little goals, celebrate them when you make them, challenge yourself to constantly make better choices and forgive yourself when you don't. Find an exercise you can do and do it! Challenge…

Also find a time to exercise and keep it consistent, my time is at 5:30 am. Nothing else gets in the way. On the weekends it is 8am. [/quote] I could never keep a set time to exercise each day. I do have a weekly goal for exercise, and that works for me. I also enjoy the freedom to change what I do for exercise from day to…

I'm on a path to lose 200+ pounds. I've lost 108 so far. I started mid-August of 2016. Feel free to keep in touch. I know you can do it! Best advice I can give is to set small goals (they add up!), try to make better choices, forgive yourself when you slip, and find any exercise you can do and try to do it regularly.…

@BaJu58 Congrats on wanting to make a difference in your health! It sounds like you are off to a good start. What's worked for me is taking time (when I have time) to make healthier options the easier option (when I don't have time) and just trying to make better choices. Also making changes in manageable chunks (example:…

Good Day, Everyone! And welcome to all the new folks! :) Word of warning ... if you use a scale to weigh your food, make sure you have replacement batteries on hand! Mind take the little disc batteries and none of my local stores carry them. And my scale just this morning decided to give warning and quit working. GRRRR. At…

Greetings Everyone! Lots of posts since I last checked in here. Welcome to the new folks; I'm new here too. I love that someone started asking about how to get in more water. I struggle with this too. I was drinking water "on schedule" (a pint each time I take meds and/or eat) but I've gotten bad about that. I've had to…

@pinkstarberry - CONGRATS on the 30 Lbs! And good luck with the gym. I'm considering joining one this fall, once our rains return and I won't want to get outside and move like I do now, but I'm intimidated. Let us know how it goes for you! @vikinglander - Best of luck solving your hip/knee pain. And my Saturday Success - I…

Go for it! I've always wanted to do one and finally did my first back in June. It was AWESOME! I walked most of the way (that's okay!) and I was the last person to cross the finish line (people still came in after I did, but they started taking the finish line down after I crossed). The 5K was part of a larger event and…

@taburbey - I second what @Nikion901 said. Small changes, a little at a time, add up to a larger life style change. I used to put a heaping tablespoon of sugar in my tea. Nine months after I got serious about making a lifestyle change, I finally cut the last 1/2 teaspoon out of my cup. That was a hard change for me; it…

@cresswellmb - Welcome! I'm new here too, hoping to find support for the 100+ pounds I still need to lose. I've already lost 85 (374 to 288) and feel like I have a good system in place for myself, but I'm lacking the support of people who either need to lose, or have lost, 100+ Lbs.

Good morning, Everyone! My weekend was not so good. I had a slice of pizza on Friday night and attended a beer festival on Saturday. Certainly both were okay to do (within calorie counts both days) but I felt so HORRIBLE afterwards. I think the pizza was worse than the beer, but the beer certainly added to it. Never again!…
