  • What kind of injury is it? Depending on the injury, there may be some kind of workout you can do. I'm 5'2" and am set on 1450 calories right now. Losses don't come as regularly now, but they are still coming, so I'm not going to go any lower. I am within 10 pounds of my goal weight.
  • LOVE Tae-Bo ever since I was a kid! Turbo Jam is great, as well. Very similar. My main form of exercise is running. I can burn 300 calories in just 30 minutes with the pace I keep. I'm continuing to work on my endurance so I can burn even more.
  • Highest: 156, which got my records flagged at my docs office, and was my wake-up call before I let it get out of hand. Lowest: Unsure, but my driver's license says 125, so I'll go with that. Current: 130 Goal is 120-125. I'm 5'2", by the way (I did reach the 170s when pregnant with my first child. What can I say? I craved…
  • Chick-Fil-A is my favorite because of Avocado Lime Ranch dressing. I also love Arby's and Popeye's. My budget is more like McDonald's most of the time, though. But I will still visit whatever is around. I can make it fit my calorie allowance..
  • None of it. There was one product I tried that I lose weight on, but I would never recommend it to anyone. It made me so sick that I couldn't eat. Voila! Calorie deficit! It also made me so tired that I came close to falling asleep while driving one time. It just messed me up.
  • I've never tried them, and won't try them. You don't need them. It may seem harder to lose, but you can still do it. It may take a different calorie allowance this time. Save your money for the new clothes you'll need if you stick to a calorie deficit! ETA: I've tried other weight-loss gimmicks. One of them actually…
  • I'm glad you came here to ask. I wish I had known about MFP before I tried some of the crazy things I did.
  • I use it as a rinse for my hair sometimes. It makes it super soft! I had no idea people use it for IBS. I shall be looking into that momentarily. For weight loss, no. Sorry, but no. It could help if you use it as a substitute for high-calorie dressings on salads. Because weight-loss always comes down to burning more…
  • I love having MFP friends! Of course....my friends are awesome. Who wouldn't love them? The point for me is I love the chit-chat, giving and receiving virtual high fives and pats on the back, and the inspiration I get from some of them. They care about my successes when no one else does. They get it when I'm stoked about…
  • And feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like!
  • Just don't make it harder than it needs to be. Put your stats into MFP, see your calorie goal, and meet it. You don't need any special supplements or plans. Someone's already mentioned a food scale. It's important for accuracy. You may have to play around with your calorie goals along the way, but you can do this!
  • The poster stated he holds on until he gets his stride right. No cheating there. I would offer the same tip. If you're comfortable with the speed, grab the bar and hold onto it until you get a good stride going to stay in a better position on the treadmill. Then let go!
  • Good job so far! My advice is keep it up! Obviously what you are doing is working. Using the food scale may take a little getting used to, but it is so much more accurate when logging. As you lose, just keep in mind that you won't always lose so quickly, and that's normal. You may need to readjust your goals once you get…
  • It's not every day we get to give this kind of advice on a weight-loss site - eat more!! (I wish that advice applied to me) In all seriousness, I am 5'2", less than 10 pounds away from goal weight, and I am losing on 1400 calories. At your size, I imagine you could eat 1600-1700 and still lose at a decent rate. That's just…
  • OP, drink to your thirst. Forcing water into your body won't make it burn fat any faster. As far as whether tea and coffee count as fluid or not, why would it not? The main ingredient is water. It remains H2O even when infused with tea leaves or coffee grounds.
  • My advice is to throw out the diets and use this site as it's meant to be used - count calories. Sure, it's a drag to start with. But once you get used to it, it doesn't take very long. Eating "good" doesn't mean you will lose weight. Eating at a deficit does. (Barring any true medical issues) If you haven't already, enter…
  • I haven't been checking in because, honestly, I forgot! But my current weight is 130.2. I guess i'm halfway to my goal and we're a little over halfway through the month. I do believe I'm going to make that goal!!
  • Yes! Let's do it! I'm sure that some people gain weight while drinking diet soda. I've seen many people assume that a zero-calorie beverage means they get to eat a lot more food. Perhaps that has something to do with it..... OP, I'm sorry I didn't answer your question. It's a taste preference, really. I love carbonated…
  • Yet I'm over here steadily losing weight while drinking diet sodas and Splenda in my coffee. I'm probably just special.
  • Back on track today! Exercised, tracked it all, and stayed under for the day!
  • @Shutterbuggg , yes, he is fine now. Thank you. He bled for an hour total, and luckily, it stopped before the doctor cauterized it. We've dealt with nosebleeds before, but an hour-long nosebleed was new to me!
  • Unfortunately, today is pass day #2 for me. I tracked and stayed under, but I was all ready to run when my son got a nosebleed. It is still bleeding 15 minutes later, so we're looking at an ER trip, rather than a run for me.
  • My running calories seem accurate to me. I've compared it to several other calorie-burn calculators and they all come very close. (within 20 calories) I trust it.
  • Exercise: 60 minutes on the treadmill (I watch tv to fight the boredom) Calories: all tracked Under?: Yep!
  • Answer this honestly: Do you really think you can take a pill that will keep your body from absorbing a percentage of the carbs and fat you eat? Do you really believe that a wrap with some kind of stuff on it that makes your skin tingle will "shrink your fat cells"? Do you believe there is a vitamin that can make your hair…
  • That definitely sounds better. I wish I could help you more, but I have no experience with this. Maybe someone will come along that does and can help you more. Just don't be hard on yourself or so strict about your weight. I'm the same height as you, so I know how it feels to be an almost normal weight, but still feel like…
  • You should not be aiming for 1200 calories while you are nursing. You get hungry because you need to eat more. You try to eat in too big of a deficit, you get super hungry, so you binge; and you are eating too many calories to lose. I don't know how many calories you need for nursing because I had never paid attention to…
  • I'm sorry, but I have to agree with the above poster. There really is no quick and easy way. We don't gain the weight overnight and it sure isn't going to go away overnight. Could we start by asking you how much you have to lose?
