I started using MFP January 12 to log food and weight daily. In 36 days I've lost 10.6 pounds. My goal is to lose 70 eventually. I'm 32, 5'5" woman. I was always fairly active but 3 kids and a desk job for 11 years has taken its toll. I've been doing good so far on my own, but would prefer some guidance. I started taking 2 one a day women's vitacraves gummies and an iron pill RX, since I'm always borderline iron deficient. Any other vitamins you would recommend? Also, I have a difficult time hitting my protein goal each day. Advice? So far, logging, being accountable and not mindlessly snacking at my desk has been a lot of my success. I also just received my digital food scale yesterday so I can more accurately log. Any other advice for a newbie to work on? Thanks in advance for the help!

You're doing great. Keep it up. you don't have to try to hit all your macros exactly to the guidelines. Eat some fish.

I don't eat meat so my protein comes from Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, tofu, tempeh, beans and occasionally a protein powder.

Your weight loss will come from being in a deficit but I do encourage you to get outside and walk. It's good for you physically and mentally.

Good job so far! My advice is keep it up! Obviously what you are doing is working. Using the food scale may take a little getting used to, but it is so much more accurate when logging. As you lose, just keep in mind that you won't always lose so quickly, and that's normal. You may need to readjust your goals once you get closer to your goal weight. As far as supplements go, if you're eating a wide variety of foods, you should get what you need from them. I wouldn't worry too much about spending money on more supplements unless blood work says you are deficient in a certain area.

ETA: I can't really offer advice on protein. I have a hard time reaching my goal, as well. Protein powders get expensive after a while.

Thanks. I've always struggled with protein. I'm lucky if I can reach my goal
twice a week. I was never a vegetarian when I was younger but I could go weeks with out meat happily. My issue with fish is I just have really never ate it. Would kind would you recommend? Growing up the daughter of an Iowa farmer, we just never ate it. I'm trying to branch out with my food tastes though.

Thanks for the protein advice. I think that will help a lot. Also, I guess I should have added I've been trying to get in more walking. So far, 2-3 times a week 1-2 miles solo or pushing kids in stroller. Also, trying to work in some lunges and squats etc. throughout the day. Hopefully with time I would like a more solid exercise plan, but for now this is what I have been able to work in. I love taking a little time for my self. Clears my head.
