I'm surviving 😁

I really, really hope for you that it's not Long Covid. For the record, if it IS, those labs may come out absolutely perfect. Then the doctor scratches his head while staring at the results, says he doesn't know how to help you, and sends you off to the next specialist, or says it's just stress and that's it. You basically…

@AlphaHowls I don't have a Garmin, but am guessing if the cheaper watches have options for indoor workouts (like treadmill running), that don't use GPS, and you can set up custom workout settings and call them whatever you want, surely Garmin has those features as well.

I'm not going to let the pumpkins rot (or be eaten by cats or... hmmm. I think I mixed that up 🐱😆). I have lots of uses for pumpkin and can bake it in pieces, then puree and freeze it for use later. Several friends have mentioned being willing to take some as well. I ended up not harvesting them just yet. I did manage…

I'm not sure I can even get the kids to youth group tonight because certain roads are flooded... but they're still holding the 10k in the city, and now people are fighting on Facebook about whether that was a good decision or not... meanwhile, it just keeps raining. Hmmm... should I go rescue the pumpkins? I definitely…

The 10k in my city (tomorrow?) just canceled the kids' race because of a big storm that's headed our way... sounds like awesome weather to race in and I'm jealous I can't do it 🤣 Who else likes running in the rain?

We also did one for Dennis aka @KeepRunningFatboy The format we've used for those has generally been to set up some kind of group where people can sign up for the time slots they want. I'd think running or walking would be appropriate for @shanaber

See this is one reason I've been avoiding you guys... you make me want to go do something crazy 🤣 I'm over here trying to figure out how we can pay tribute to our friend, even though I'd probably not be able to participate. I feel like those 20 miles she was short on her last goal stick out, and there could be a theme…

Also I hope it's OK to post this here, but I'm trying to remember who all said they had moved over to logging in the "Lose It" app...

I'm just stopping by to share condolences with you all after Shana's passing. I just looked back over my private messages with her - it was mostly cheering each other on in our health battles. Even when she was so sick, she was still such a huge encouragement, and was doing all she could to make the best of what she was…

Sounds like fun. I had a crazy day yesterday with a kid's birthday party. I need to remember not to do them like this here anymore. 19 girls were invited and one said she couldn't come. The others were asking for present ideas. So I planned a party for 20-something people (counting birthday girl, sibling & me), complete…

@quilteryoyo what a relief about your mom's spot not being a problem! I continued my slug battle with more hand-to-hand combat (gathering the slimy little #### by hand). The second round of planting is just now starting to peek up through the soil. I also got a bag of diatomaceous earth and sprinkled that over all the…

I'll go first 😁 I started this group because MFP is apparently phasing out the newsfeed and I realized I had been using it as a safe place to talk about my health journey and other things (like gardening adventures) without bothering all of my Facebook friends about it. Here are some roses I got from a friend. She had dug…

@kgirlhart In my experience, little dogs are more dangerous. @tarun_yadavA I don't blame you for the cinnamon roll, or even the family food-fest. You already know it's not the one-time events that throw us off, but the general habits we nurture in our lives. Seems like you've been doing well lately. The sun came out here…
-
I'm picturing poor @tarun_yadavA sitting there eating carrots and pepper slices, while everyone else eats those cinnamon rolls! Good for you if you can do it. I personally would find that difficult, and would find a way to compromise. @ContraryMaryMary congrats on the half! I think it's a great accomplishment just to be…

I might've been a bit ambitious in the seed order I just placed. This year there may be pumpkins and flowers EVERYWHERE 😁🌼🌻🪴🌺⚘🌿 (provided I don't kill them by mistake). I mobilized the kids to help clean a bit, made lunch and then tried a cookie recipe (I reduced the artificial sweetener and it still jumps out too much in…

Oh no, that flooding looks bad. We've had so much rain here as well. I live up a hill, but the ground is very saturated. I was only out for a few minutes today. Afraid to step in the yard because it makes the mud worse.
-
@ContraryMaryMary I love that you "accidentally" signed up for a half marathon, and I'm glad you realized it before the race! Enjoy! Question for the group: When you can't run/cycle/swim/etc, have you found any low-exertion activities that allow you to get your brain into that "zone" where you can more easily process &…

After a few good days, today I woke up with some sort of intestinal virus. Complete with occasional weird flashy eye floaters and even more exhaustion than normal. Skipped donut day (Fat Thursday) completely. Managed to get some electrolytes down and that was it. I feel like it might be starting to subside, so maybe…

From what I can tell, it only takes one tiny thing to mess them up, and I suspect the pros go through a lot of ingredients getting their systems down with their particular ingredients and ovens. I have almost a kilogram of almond flour now, so will probably look for something else to use it in, preferably without sugar.…

Sigh... kitchen experiment...

Hope it goes smoothly and effectively!

PS. I declined the Strava member request. If it's someone who is actually here with us, speak up in this thread, and send another request! Macarons are not going well. 🤣 I'll update with complete results later. I managed a walk to the store (package pickup) and am making lunch, but need a nap really soon...

Cleaning with kids went better today. We finished the list. I made tacos [yummy!] and completed grocery shopping (with a pre-teen helper) without thinking I'd fall over. Something has given me slight DOMS in my arms 😆. Healthier eating continues, and the scale finally started a slow downward trend, but the plan is to…

Great job being smart and stopping when you needed to! That's still a whole lotta km 😉

Today I ran out of energy halfway through deep cleaning the kitchen. Tried to pace myself and do what I could sitting down. Finished all but the fridge, and will do that tomorrow while cooking. Meanwhile kids were supposed to be cleaning their rooms, but 3 hours later I can't even tell what they were doing. I have a list…

Is the new member request in the Strava group (initials J.K.) someone here with us? @shanaber FROM THE PET STORE?!? That's a bit irresponsible on their part. But probably a ton of fun for the kid 😊
-
@quilteryoyo so sorry for your loss. Sending hugs and prayers for your family.

Great article, and a good picture of some of the struggles endurance athletes have with this illness. I did find the ending, where he's signing up for Javelina 100, to be a bit dark though. I'm not sure even the writer realized it - it may take someone who knows what consequences doing that race could have for him. I had…

Guinea pigs are tired from their workout yesterday. And they found a mystery phone next to the game console.
