@Scott6255 Love your stats on yesterday's run. Glad you had a good run with your brother.
Sounds like you did great with your long run @Laurz9191 . Those headwinds are horrible.
Nice running @tarun_yadavA . At least you did munch on the veggies. I call that a win.
Great running @Mari33a .
I had sun today too @daria0919 . Great walking and sticking to your plan.
@yirara I hope you feel better soon. Great job of hanging in on a hard run today.

I'll admit that I was a bit lazy today. I was also tired and moody, so just did a cool mile walk on the driveway this afternoon.
I am going to finish out the month doing what I can/feel like doing. I know I will be no where near my goal, but I'm okay with that. I plan to start my training plan over again in March. Good thing I didn't sign up for a race yet.10 -
Great news @chris_in_cal!
I feel you @quilteryoyo . February is not shaping up to be a good month.
Terrible, terrible run. Felt like I was running in sand. My left Achilles started hurting pretty quickly. Only got in 5 miles. I guess I just need to take it easy for the rest of the month.

It was really chilly this morning, but it was a nice morning. I ran 6 miles. It was an uneventful, but good run.
Great news @chris_in_cal !
It's been a rough month for you @quilteryoyo. You should go easy on yourself.

Morning all
Got in 5 (at 09"44).
Happy chocolate eating day, ladies!10 -
Side note...
Has anyone used the Strava DM feature yet? I saw this amusing reel whilst scrolling.
(Hope link works! ... You have to copy/paste it into a browser ☹️)
Enjoy lol

Oh no @Scott6255 . I hope your Achilles feels better after a little rest. Five miles is still great.
Thank you @kgirlhart . Great run.
@tarun_yadavA No chocolate for me today - just clear liquids. That's okay with me. I'm not a huge chocolate fan. I have used the DM once with someone on here, so I know they are safe. Did you read her entire spiel? I giggled at the fact that she is intentionally showing off her engagement ring.

I got out and did a frosty driveway walk this morning. It was surprisingly pleasant and enjoyable. I have a handyman coming to do some work today and it's colonoscopy prep day. Oh joy! Chicken broth. It's what's for breakfast.

Another stiff & sluggish run but I just kept going. It was drizzling quite heavy by the time I was able to go and was fully expecting the come back compete drenched. But it just stopped so was a very calm run with no wind and reasonable temperatures. Overall good!
Going out for diner to our local restaurant since it St Valentines' Day, any excuse!7 -

Still not able to run, or rather breathe properly. Damn pollen allergy. Oh yeah, and I'm still massively behind goal 😅 Will be away from Saturday to Monday evening, thus likely will lag even more behind. Ho hum, and will have a lengthy doctors visit at the end of the month for which I'll have to stay away from home for another night. Doomed plan 🤣6 -

It was cool this morning, but not as cold as yesterday. I ran 6 miles. I saw a skunk. And I saw 4 dogs I had never seen before. They really startled me. There were 3 small ones, maybe chihuahuas or some type of terrier. And there was one bigger dog that might have been a blue heeler. It was hard to tell because it was dark. The little ones barked a lot but the big one didn't. And they didn't come out of their yard, but it was still kind of scary. I turned and walked away and went around the block. I'll be sure to avoid that area for a while. Other than that, it was a great run and it was starting to get light as I got home which always makes me happy.
@quilteryoyo Colonoscopy prep on Valentines Day? That's no fun.
8 -
Way to hang in there and get it done @Mari33a .
I do hope you feel better soon @yirara .
Sounds like a nice run @kgirlhart . I always worry about the little dogs more than most larger ones. The only dog that ever bit me was a little one. But I have been really scared by larger ones. I'm glad they didn't come out of their yard. Yeah, the lady made sure I knew I'd have to be doing the prep on Valentine's Day. I didn't mind, since I don't have a significant other, wasn't planning anything, and am not a huge fan of chocolate.8 -
Another sweet little shuffle. I am feeling good. Again, Happy Valentine's Day for everyone in the know.

Good morning everyone!
@Scott6255 I hope you leg feels better soon!!!
I had to squeeze in a run this morning before going to the dentist (where I am now waiting and thinking I could have gotten another .5km in). My body felt quite battered by my long run afterwards and yesterday morning, but by evening I was feeling restless and ready to run again . I ran 6.5km and will try to work in some strength training and a bit more running this afternoon .
132.1km/200km.10 -
Morning everyone!
Got in 5 again (09"25).
Finally happened! Living at my mother's for a few days... To date, been a slow puncture of bad eating... yesterday was a total Blow out. Wife and youngest turned up at my mother's last night (they were at her folks'); sister,B-i-L and kids showed up too. So 9 of us - neither mother/wife/sister wanted to cook - so we ordered takeout... Ate loads! Dessert - and also chocs too! And gave up logging calories once the first number crept over 4--- 🙈
Anyways. First real off day this calendar year so far. (No booze still... ).
@quilteryoyo hahaha. I liked that little skit. Especially that last one "I know where you live". I've not DM-ed anyone on Strava yet... But can appreciate how creepy some of those DMs can across. Doubly-so as you can stalk someone right down to where they live on that platform!
@chris_in_cal 😂 some Strava pointers for you when you sign-up😂
@SummerSkier nice speedy one yesterday 😊
@Scott6255 hope your leg feels better soon!
@Laurz9191 great running there! Back on it after that 18Miler 💪🏽9 -
@chris_in_cal Great job on the shuffle. I'm glad you are still feeling good.
You're doing great @Laurz9191 .
@tarun_yadavA You have done well so far. One day isn't a disaster, in fact it sounds pretty good considering what I ate yesterday. You were just eating for me too, and I appreciate it. Tracking people on Strava is one reason why I have the start of my runs from home hidden from view, so that my routes rarely show up. It has to be a long run on the road before any of it appears there. When I'm not at home, I don't care because I have no routine so I doubt if anyone could find me if they wanted to. I am glad that you got to enjoy Valentines Day with family. Enjoy the rest of your stay at your mums.
I'm leaving in about 30 min for my colonoscopy. I'm looking forward to getting it over with and having some food. I'm beginning to get a little hungry. I'll try for at least a mile walk this afternoon.8 -
@quilteryoyo good luck with the colonoscopy! Hope you get to pig out afterwards 😊1

Todays run turned into a very smelly one. A farmer was spraying slurry on one of the fields we passed and because of the breeze Dakota & I got caught in the light misty drift has we passed by. It was showers for us both when we got home. Poor Dakota's still a bit whiffy so think he'll have to get another wash again tomorrrow.8 -

I went out for a mile walk on the driveway after I got home from my colonoscopy. They said no strenuous exercise, so took it a little slower than normal. Avg HR was 119 with a max of 135 bpm.
Colonoscopy stuff under the spoiler. The colonoscopy/endoscopy went well, except they had an emergency before we got there and there was a three hour delay getting started.
I don't know what they give you to knock you out, but boy does it work fast. They put the little tube in my mouth and I saw the doctor standing there. They said "Goodnight Vicky" and the next thing I knew the nurse was waking me up. I had been dreaming and I couldn't figure out why there was a strange woman in my house.
The doctor came in and talked to us. There were no polyps. He did say there was a little inflamed spot near the bottom of my esophagus, so he took three biopsies (one there, one in the stomach, and one in the lower intestine) to check for H. Pylori. I'll find out those results next week. If it is, I think I just take anti-biotics to get rid of it. So, the results were good.
My chauffeurs were getting really hungry, since I didn't get through until about 2:30 and we thought I would be done before lunch. So, I took them out for lunch before coming home. We had Italian. I ate about 1/3 of mine. Just a lot on my tummy after no real food for almost 2 days.9 -
Yuck @Mari33a . Nice running though.
February has been a tough month for a lot of us @emptydog . Hopefully March will be better.
@daria0919 You are doing great with your plan!1 -
Sorry to hear of your stinky run @Mari33a. I’m glad it wasn’t a skunk though.
@emptydog I’m sure you’re doing your best. Just keep at it.
@quilteryoyo glad to hear colonoscopy went well. Hopefully, like you said, maybe an antibiotic will fix things if there’s a concern. But, hopefully it’s nothing.
@tarun_yadavA one day of overeating and then back on track! I had a whole week of eating out at restaurants last week, with a bit of wine and decadent desserts and my weight shot up and now my walking is slower. I can put it on in one week and then it takes 2-3 weeks to return to where I was before vacation.4 -

I ran 6.25 miles this morning. It was a nice morning. I saw two skunks. It is definitely skunk mating season. They have been really active lately. I didn't see the dogs from yesterday, so I was happy about that.

Feb total: 51.4 miles
YTD: 154.6/1200 miles
2/1: 4 miles

2/12: 5 miles
2/13: 2.8 miles
2/15: 6.9 miles
I've been checking in on everyone but just now getting around to logging the last few runs.
I've been struggling some this month. Sounds like a few of us are having a hard time this month. My runs lately have felt slow and my legs are heavy. It's amazing how quickly I went from feeling like I was in great shape to struggling.
Today was ok. Not as tired but just not as easy as it was a few weeks ago. I've decided not to stress about trying to race next weekend. I'm not in the condition I need to be so I'm just going to run and enjoy the experience. I wish I was feeling better. I would have liked a second try at a PR this season but I guess it's not meant to be.9 -
Good morning everyone!
I am sorry to hear that so many of you are having a hard February!!! But, it seems like you are all getting out there and doing what you can! Sometimes IMO the monthly goals need to be adjusted when the unexpected happens.
@Mari33a I can’t believe you 2 got sprayed with manure. So gross!
@martaindale I hope you can have an enjoyable HM even if it’s won’t be a PB. Last year when I got my HM PB in April I spent the rest of the year running slower. I don’t know why. My body just felt sluggish. I’m feeling like I’m just starting to get somewhat back to where I was. I hope that doesn’t happen again after the M this year in the same race. But if it does, I guess I will just keep getting out there.
Yesterday I wanted to get a strength session in but spent too long at the dentist and then at the DMV- 1.5hrs to deregister a car! (still nothing compared to the 3 hours! @quilteryoyo had to wait for her colonoscopy). I did get in 4.5km on the treadmill before picking up the kids and this morning I got in 6km on the treadmill. I will try to run again this afternoon during my son’s soccer practice. It’s nicer now that it’s no longer dark at that time.
142.6/200km for February.8 -
Morning all.
Got in a 10K (at 09"46 pace).
@Mari33a - that's gross lol.
@quilteryoyo - how are you feeling today? Hope that Italian hit the spot!
@martaindale - sorry to hear you're struggling a bit this month
@daria0919 - think I struggle a lot when not in routine6 -
@kgirlhart In my experience, little dogs are more dangerous.
@tarun_yadavA I don't blame you for the cinnamon roll, or even the family food-fest. You already know it's not the one-time events that throw us off, but the general habits we nurture in our lives. Seems like you've been doing well lately.
The sun came out here as well. My husband is on his way home now from his 2-week work trip. He got delayed due to a bird strike and then missed the final flight, but fortunately there was another flight a few hours later and he wasn't stuck too long. The house has been clean and kids fed & happy the whole time he's been gone, so I guess I'm not completely useless 😁
But going to the grocery store is an endurance workout for me. Uggh.5 -
Thanks @daria0919 .
@kgirlhart Glad you had an uneventful run. Glad the skunks are more interested in each other than you.
@martaindale I'm sorry you have been struggling this month. You had such an awesome HM earlier. It probably took more out of you than you thought. I hope you enjoy your race this weekend.
You are doing great @laurz9191 Isn't waiting the worst! At least I had my mom and friend for good conversation and laughter while we waited.
Great run @tarun_yadavA . I'm a bit tired today, but feeling okay. I'm going to take it easy and hope I'll be back to "normal" tomorrow. The Italian was good. I'll probably have the left overs for dinner tonight.
