    Oct 15 – 5.02 miles
    Total 45.95 miles/Goal 80 miles

About a tenth of a mile into my run this morning, I realized I forgot to put my Noxgear vest on so we made a u-turn back to the car to get it. I paused my watch and didn’t remember to start it again until 4 miles later. Oops! It still counts right?

Oh @daria0919 I’m so sorry you are having such issues with your foot. I hope it calms down so that surgery isn’t necessary.

@martaindale - I hope the labs show that your exhaustion can be fixed by adjusting a vitamin or mineral and that it is not long COVID.

Glad you had a nice run @yirara.

I hope your calf trouble is gone for Saturday’s race @Scott6255. Glad you have a back up plan to run with your niece. If you still feel niggles on Friday, it might be better to just plan to stick with her and not injure yourself any further.

Lookout run #100 @tarun_yadavA! He will be coming in hot!

    Great speedy run @kgirlhart!

Good job fitting in your runs and walks during a busy time.

I’m sure I missed replying to people but for some reason MFP wouldn’t go back a page for me to refresh my memory!

    10/15: 6.26 miles

    79.94/140 miles completed for October

My weather app said that the running conditions were excellent this morning, and it was certainly right. I ran 6.25 miles and kept it at a pretty easy pace. It wasn't as speedy as yesterday, but it was still speedier than my average has been lately. I think I forget how hard running in the heat can be.

@daria0919 I am so sorry! I hope you can avoid surgery. We'll miss you.

@martaindale I hope you can get some answers and it's not long covid.

@scott6255 I hope the calf behaves. Running with your niece sounds nice though.

@tarun_yadavA Awesome job on the streak!

Great run @Teresa502 . I hate it when I forget to turn my watch back on, but, like you said, it counts anyway.

@kgirlhart I'm glad you are enjoying your runs in the cooler weather.

    40.8/80 mile goal

I didn't sleep the best last night, so kept hitting the snooze and got up about 30 minutes later than I planned. I still barely had time to get my drill workout run in on the treadmill, without adding much additional distance/time, before getting ready and heading out to work at daycare.

I walked 0.25 miles for warm up, wun 5.0/4.0 mph about 6 min, did the drills, wun for a little more than 10 min - at 5.5 and 5.0/4.0 mph. My cadence drills were 4 x (30 sec each at 7.0/4.0 mph). Acceleration gliders were 4 x (6.0/4.0 mph). I walked another 0.25 miles for cool down at 3.8 mph. The avg pace of the 2 mile run was 12:14 min/mile. It felt pretty easy today. Avg HR was 125 with a max of 148 bpm.

My friend and I had planned on tennis after work today, but it was cold, windy, and sprinkling rain. None of those things are conducive to fun tennis, so we cancelled.

Well, my running days are basically over.
Saw ankle/foot specialist this morning. My lifetime of having very flat feet has caught up with me. The PTTD can’t be reversed she said. Best case is to stop it from getting worse so as to avoid surgery. Plan is to get the tendon to calm down, so in a boot for next 4 weeks to start. 😞

    niggrzn458ip.jpeg

I have to wear the boot with every step I take until my next appointment.

Bye bye 8K training and 8K race in November.

I’ll still pop in to visit this group, but won’t be posting mileage.

@daria0919 oh no! I'm so sorry to read this 😢

@polskagirl01 Yes, LC is a diagnosis of exclusion. I'm hoping for something simple like iron deficiency or hypothyroidism. If everything is normal, I'm also planning to talk to someone about starting HRT as perimenopause has really ramped up for me and maybe that is also playing a role. Even if the HRT doesn't fix the running problem it should help the litany of other symptoms and that would also be nice.
How are you doing? Haven't heard from you in a while.

It was wet, cold and windy this morning so I did an upper body weight workout and ran 1 mile on the treadmill.

@polskagirl01 - so good to hear to from you and to see you and your giant pumpkin!

Congrats on the 100-day streak @tarun_yadavA!

@polskagirl01 I'm glad you are having more good days and able to do more than you could before. I hope Josie does well with the babies and you are able to give them all to wonderful homes. She's a pretty guinea pig. What did you do with that huge pumpkin?

Nice run @martaindale . I hope you enjoy your new plan.

    Great running @yirara .

@Teresa502 I don't blame you. It felt really cold all day today with that breeze.

Ran under a beautiful, bright moon this morning but it was chilly at 35F. I wore a long shirt, capris and gloves. My capris weren’t thick enough though and my legs were so cold by the time I got back to the car. I turned on my seat warmer but couldn’t feel anything for several minutes and then when I did I didn’t want to get out of the car.

@quilteryoyo – Glad your boil alert has been lifted. Parts of Asheville still don’t have water and may not for a couple of months.

Good luck easing into the zero drop shoes @AmunahSki. You are taking a smart approach!

And the streak continues @tarun_yadavA! You are doing great channeling your inner @AlphaHowls!

Glad you had a nice run @kgirlhart .

Good luck @AmunahSki . Let me know how you like Jeff's plan. I am in the middle of his HM plan to get ready for my 10 miler in Dec.

Nice that you are keeping the streak going @tarun_yadavA !

It is really chilly this morning @Teresa502 . I have decided I really need some cold weather running gear. I would have probably bailed early on the run. I really dislike being cold, esp. when trying to run. I'm glad you had the seat warmers though. And, yes, I'm glad for the water situation here, but feel so badly for those in NC that are having to deal with this for months.

Drizzled & misty the whole time but no wind so it felt quite relaxing.

@daria_0507 - I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Hopefully you can avoid surgery.

    @tarun_yadavA - Go U and your 100 day streak!

for a bit of fun I did a lactate threshold test (Garmin has my lactate threshold at 155 10:58): my watch tried to kill me, and I ‘failed’ as I just couldn’t get into zone 5 (above 172). I think this a common problem with the test?

That's so interesting. I have zero problems getting into zone 5. I take special care to stay out of zone 5. If it's warm I'll hit it in a longer run even if I'm doing walk breaks.

Absolutely. I got Achilles tendonitis a few years ago when I got new shoes with a much lower drop than the ghosts I was using at the time. Didn't realize the difference and paid the price.
