Being a nurse for close to twenty years,I have very strong feelings about this one. If you are working in healthcare, your primary responsibility is to protect the welfare of the people who are entrusting you with their lives. Where I work you either get the shot or have to wear a mask whenever you are at work. If you opt…

I made them with vanilla almond milk instead of buttermilk and they were very good.

GET OUT NOW! The more someone realizes they can abuse you without you standing up, the worse it will get. The abuse will escalate quickly. It will not be long before he does something to further damage your self-esteem or hurts you physically. If you don't have close friends or family to help you, look into domestic abuse…

The smallest I have ever gotten was when I was following a low carb diet, SUGAR BUSTERS, about 10 years ago. I have just started back on it this week and I also have had the oppotunity to have a baseline labs that include Apo B, insulin, LP(a) mass etc.... and I plan to have them drawn again in about 3 months to see if the…

I have greatly decreased the number of times I weigh and the emphasis I place on it. I found it very disheartening. I go by how my clothes fit now. I finally can comfortably wear the shorts I couldn't get on when I started on MFP. My target clothes still mock me from the back of my closet, but that's ok.

Journaling: This is something I preach but am guilty of not doing as often as I should, but it does help a lot. Try putting a small pad and pen in the pantry and start getting in the habit of grabbing that and writing out your frustration quickly instead of popping the food in your mouth. Good luck :flowerforyou:

Great info. Being a non-morning person who knows that eating breakfast is very important, the example meals were very helpful.

Almond and soy are cholesterol free which is a consideration if you have a family history of heart disease. I don't llike the taste of soy. I use Almond milk in oatmeal and smoothies. I belileve one cup of Almond has 90 cals which is lower than one cup of 1%.

At least in my case, I lose first in the last place I gain (upper body) and lose last in the place I gain first (ever inch of my body between the waist and knees).

Good luck with the FNP program. In my first year practicing as a NP I cut back from exercising 4-5 times a week to maybe once a wk and gained 25 lbs. Now I still work 12-13 hr day but I have had to make working out as high a priority as sleeping and eating. I found the less I worked out the more stressed I was.

I am also a nurse and frequently do not get a break for lunch. I always bring a EAS protein shake and mojo clif bars to have for lunch in a pinch and I always bring a bag of carrots to eat on the commute home so I don't dive into the pantry when I do get home.
