For what it is worth: I was able to test the battery in the 3 volt in the polar I just got for xmas and it was reading 2.8. I just replaced it and it seems to be crediting me calories closer to what it was when I first got it.

Make sure your personal setting are correct first of all. I just started using a polar after Christmas and I have just started noticing in the last week or so that I am burning even less with the same workouts. I am going to switch out the battery today. Who knows how long the Polar was sitting on the shelf. I'll post an…

Sounds like you are pushing yourself a bit too hard. I would back down a bit before you injury yourself. You want to sweat and get your heart rate up but if you are to the point that you feel ill, your body is trying to tell you that you are overdoing it.

Stretch your feet especially when you first get up in the morning when the tendon is the most tense. A good way is to put your toes up against a wall and gently press down. Good luck.

I wear the tight yoga pants and tops from Lululemon when I work out. I get dirty looks from the women but I don't care. I got it, I'm gonna flaunt it. Well...I take it back...I'm as flat as a 10 year old boy but I got a 4 pack, so I'm gonna flaunt it! [/quote] You made me laugh out loud with that one. Good for you.…

supposedly if you enter weight training under exercise there is an option for it. I have recently started using a polar HRM and I keep it running during my weight training. It definitely burns calories. Good luck :flowerforyou:

AH! Nothing like the pressure of higher education to sap the life out of you! Best of luck! Just keep in mind, it all the crap you are going through now will so be worth it when you are handed that diploma

WOW! That takes the cake. How did you you respond? The rudest thing I have dealt with is people having full length conversations on their bluetooths while on the elliptical etc... Drives me nuts!

@ NEtchik: Awesome job on the blog. I've been treading the treacherous waters of depression my whole life. As with everything in life, unless you have lived it, you have no clue. It's always nice to be reminded that there are MANY others out there who do get it and have found ways to deal with it. More smiles than tears…

I just got a polar HRM with a chest strap. I love it. Search HRM and you will find a lot of great info from previous posts.:flowerforyou:

The high fiber intake would only be an issue if it starts to give you stomach upset/diarrhea or if you are on some kind of meds-it could affect the absorption. Too much protein would be an issue if you have decreased kidney function.

"How they toiled and sweated to get the hay in!" Frighteningly accurate.
