An apple is not 60 calories...unless you eat a 60 calorie apple. Had a huge Granny Smith the other day that worked out to be 120 calories. :)

Take it one day at a time. Learn to hold yourself accountable. You can do it!
-
Log it and move on...don't dwell on it. Next time, work some treats or chocolate into your daily or weekly calorie goal and eat it without the guilt. Keep the bigger picture in mind! :)

Why is this bad advice? Eating at a calorie deficit, eating a variety of foods, eating at least 1200 calories a day (although I suspect that 1200 a day is very low intake and not sustainable if one is also exercising)--this is how I lose weight. How would this "wreck" anyone?

Your efforts are working! You lost 5 lbs in 6 weeks--good for you! Sounds like you plan to get a food scale and tighten up your logging--very good choice. Also--please choose a reasonable daily calorie limit--1200 or fewer calories is not necessarily reasonable, especially if you are working out frequently. Wishing you…

Don't fast for weight loss--you'll be setting yourself up for misery and unrealistic expectations. Put all of your stats into the "goals" section of MFP, select a reasonable weekly goal, eat the daily amount of calories MFP gives you, and eat food you like that fits into that daily goal. I've lost 7 lbs doing this--it…

Bump!

This is awesome! Thank you for such a helpful and informative post--very thorough!

Go for it! Enjoy the sun and swim--or bring a book and sit in the shade. At my current weight, I was so nervous to go to the pool--also in an apt. complex--but I did it and all was well. No one was paying attention to me--everyone at the pool is doing their own thing. It is good to get out of the house and break up the…

Congrats! You are amazing and strong--keep it up! :)

I love swimming! It burns calories, which helps me meet my goals. And it feels good! Make sure you are eating at a calorie deficit though or it won't help with weight loss. ;)

Hey OP! Do you plan to still eat fruit? Are you talking about added sugar or sugar in general? Regardless of your sugar choices, be sure you are eating at a calorie deficit to lose weight :) Best wishes!

You look great! Good job! :)

Mmmmmm.....fetaaaaaa......love that stuff.

Have patience OP--losing weight takes time :) Be proud of your loss so far!

5 lbs gone--good for you! You are doing everything right. Now, on to the next 5 lbs...

Limit your intake, drink a lot of water, log the calories, fit these pizza calories into your overall daily goal, and, I can't stress this enough, enjoy the pizza! ;)

Had the same experience a few years ago with Celexa. I had to take it in the morning. Best wishes for health!

I am super jealous right now. :)

Clothes fitting differently/smaller sized clothes--excellent indicators of the reality of your awesome weight loss. I can relate--the scale never lies to me, but my mirror does. Keep up the great work and congrats on your loss! :)

You need a new scale.

Keep eating at a calorie deficit and have patience...takes time. :)

Unnecessarily harsh. If OP is not over her maintenance calorie limit, she will not gain weight. That's awesome that you could eat a variety of foods after oral surgery, but not everyone is you. Jeesh.

You are not wrong. You are absolutely right. It is possible to lose fat and gain muscle simultaneously.

This. I struggled at 1200 calories a day--some days I would do well--other days I would go over and feel terrible about it. After reading through the forums, I decided to recalculate my weekly goals. Now my daily intake is 1460, which is reasonable and sustainable. By not feeling deprived or hungry, I've been successful…

You are amazing--way to go! You look beautiful and fit and strong--what an incredible transformation! Thank you for the sound advice and inspiration. :)
