  • When i was working as a waitress doing anywhere from 15000-20000+ steps i was barely breaking even on the active setting. I am however 123.5lb but still. I would say stick with active possible even lightly active. Now im back at uni working on the wards in hospital i am on lightly active and it is basically perfect that…
  • Personally i like to track mine. I also wear my fitbit equivilant because youll be shocked how much cardio you do and how many calories it burns dancing about, which helps offset the drink. I usually try to pick something for pre drinks like wine which for the alcohol content isnt too horrific or vodka or gin and only use…
  • As someone in the middle of a 5/6 year degree I'd say be prepared to compromise. I've been back at uni 2 weeks and official freshers week is next week for us. I've been doing well so far getting to the gym 2-3 times per week which is my personal aim. I'm well aware that come freshers week it's best to just go with the flow…
  • Meee too emma donaldson
  • I love joe wicks the body coach. Follow him on facebook or instagram. I also have his 2 cook books which are fab
  • Have you been weighing and accurately logging everything you eat to keep under your calorie goal? Perhaps you could discuss your weight issues with your doctor before you jump straight to surgery they may be able to make suggestions to help you. Gastric band is huge and dangerous surgery I'd ask for medical help and try…
  • While on the whole BMI is a good guide me and my flatmate at the same height but entirely different shapes. For starters her boobs weigh about half a stone more than mine so it does depend on your personal body shape as to how low is safe for you to go in terms of weight. Not everyone fits into the nice neat health…
  • I went seriously low calorie and i felt great however when i relaxed to more like 1600 i found i was able to do far more in the gym etc. So i depends on your priorities.
  • Perhaps you could try the 5.2 diet if you're inclined to this kinda thing? You eat 500 calories 2 days per week (not back to back) but fairly normally the other 5. I've read lots of research to suggest that the body copes well with 5.2 and may actually have health benefits. But to starve for multiple days consecutively is…
  • I think i know what you meant here. However given that overweighr 'fat' people are more prone to diabetes, various cancers, heart problems etc. Due to their excessive weight i'm not sure we should go round calling them healthy because they must be making plenty unhealthy choices to maintain a high weight. Obviously their…
  • I got the UP move, UP make quite a few trackers and in tests there step counts have come in very similar to the fitbit so they're just as accurate. I got mine for £15. I wanted to try something before i shelled out big for a fitbit. However since getting my UP ive compared it to my dads fitbit and i highly doubt ill bother…
  • I always thought I was lucky I'm not tiny but most would have always called me slim and I've always eaten lots of big meals, sweets etc. However living in halls and communal living showed me that actually I just have better lifestyle habits than other girls I live with. Nothing huge but little things like sweetener in tea…
  • Im a waitress and aim for 15000-20000 steps a day and let my up move tracker adjust for me. So i set myself as active
  • I'm average around 19000 per day but i think most groups suggest a healthy person should aim for at least 10000. If a nurse told you 5000 start there and build up on that as you feel more able.
  • Me personally I'd go to the 130lb. Infact it's basically what I am doing! However with a bit of toning around the middle you could probably avoid needing to lose that much really.
  • So my jawbone will only log excess of maintenance?
  • Even in the refrigerator rice left more than 24 in there hours can still pose a real risk obviously the longer it is left out the greater the risk but why bother. If you start your rice cooking before you start the rest of your cooking it'll be ready in perfect time. I also buy Jasmine not the quick cook but the real rice…
  • They look amazing definitely trying that!
  • Aaaaah please be so so careful with this because when left after cooking rice can grow toxins such as bacillus cereus which can cause food poisoning and be very toxic making you really ill and because it's a toxin that makes you sick reheating cant stop it. It isn't hugely common but given that rice only takes 10 minutes…

  • Try strength training and keep losing a bit extra weight eventually if you lose enought it will more or less go but you probably need to improve muscle tone too.

  • I spent around 8 weeks at 1200 and I did lose 7.7kg (around 17lb) however as ive returned to maintenance in the last week and a half ive gained 1.8kg. Yeah there has been a bbq and 2 nights out following my exams so it hasnt been perfect maintenance however im not sure ive been so bad it should warrant such a gain. This…
  • Perhaps you just need to go about this a different way. Plan meals that are really taste which you enjoy for every day and don't have cheat meals. I personally think they arent a good habit to have anyway. Save the cheat days for when you have an occassion where it's too difficult to avoid calories e.g. going to the pub, a…
