Some grapes (and bother, I forgot the bananas!) yellow, stickered meatballs, cofresh jalapeño grills for OH, a creme egg and some half price graze flapjacks for my eldest. So, basically, I popped to the shop for it's for everyone in the family and forgot the item that I wanted. 🙄

I find counting to be a faff. I avoid it when I can. I generally maintain without counting because I know what I need to do but if I do find myself slipping eg after too many pre-Christmas mince pies, I jump back into counting for a while before it becomes a big deal.

Chicken is not pure protein. It also contains water (feel it - it's wet!) and a little fat. 160g of protein is a very high amount. You really need to do some reading if you're going to get that much into your diet. What's your calorie allowance?

Ice is not food.

This puzzles me. I'm 51, 5'4 and, OK, my bmi is 25 but maintenance calories are 1800 at lightly active for me - currently working on losing half a pound a week and it's a rare day that I'm constrained to just 1530kcal. I can understand much shorter women struggling a little with mfp's 1200 limit but for women around my…

Perimenopause was tough for me but now I'm in menopause I no longer have the cyclic cravings. My carb tolerance is shot, though.

I probably eat real food. I guess you mean not shakes?

I sleep worse. Hate waking up cold and hungry at 3am!

Not if I'm full. No reason to eat if I feel full. But if I do eat some back, I don't go above my baseline (in my case lightly active) maintenance calories. I have no count days, so factor in that I might need some calories in the bank.

Pick a reading and stick with that one. You're looking for a trend and a pound difference is insignificant. If the variation had been 5lb, then obviously you would need new scales.

I love fish and used to be pescatarian but, despite living in an island nation, it's really expensive.

I'm eating 70-80 grams of protein on 1500-1700 kcal per day - it's definitely harder to build more in without constipating yourself when you're a small, soft woman.

Today. B: small bowl high protein granola with lactofree milk. Banana. Bucket of milky coffee (unsweetened) L: M&S low cal ready meal - pork loin with spuds, carrots cabbage and gravy. Dinner: M&S chicken Jalfrezi (yes, I went for a walk to the shop and back, this morning and picked up reduced to clear stock) , basmati…

Not doing this but I'm mostly dairy free as it doesn't agree with me and find that if I want to hit 20% of calories from protein, I end up eating large portions of meat or fish twice a day. What I do find helpful, though, is sticking to small portions of wholegrain carbs, as much as possible (I love brown rice but can take…

Still waiting for this theory, mind.

Foie gras. Barbaric.

How is 54 old? Are we in the 1820s?

Coconut curry with chicken thigh, butternut squash and baby spinach, served with wholegrain basmati. (aargh, it's not posting my pic)

If I visit you for dinner, please invite me on your cooking night!

Burns off a lot of calories carrying all that hair around.

Never seen my abs. 51 and they're probably wrapped around my knees then tied in a knot behind my back, these days.

You know what has cured me of chocolate cravings? *kitten* migraines. I occasionally check to see if they've gone. Took me until the Friday to get over valentines day 😕

I would eat pizza if cheese didn't make me ill. I'd have about 600 calories worth with a load of salad, though, and probably get bored and leave the crusts.
-
A really disgusting, flavourless sausage roll. They're for my youngest child, who needs the calories, but I occasionally crave them, late at night. I make myself take it off the next day's goal, rather than ignore it.

Iow, the fat you need to burn off, so don't eat so much that you don't burn it off!
-
The defect is the difference between what you burn in a normal day - basically the energy you need to exist and move and the amount of food required to provide that energy, less the defecit, which needs to come from fat stores.

You will have a lot of loose skin. Depending on age and genetics, it may shrink down a bit.

Losing the sugary shite. Even a small "treat" makes me hungry for the rest of the day.

I'm on a maintenance cycle. Have maintained for several years but often plump up a bit in autumn so work on losing it when the days get longer - literally a few pounds. There are years it's got away from me before I sort it out, my knees hurt and I feel it when I walk uphill, as I'm hypermobile and live somewhere hilly.…
