  • Good luck with your appointment. And keep us posted!
  • Thank you! I have submitted my request to gain access to the group. Waiting for approval, and will then browse the posts. Thanks for weighing in. Much appreciated.
  • I would like to mention that I would love to get my blood lipids under control, although my HDL has been doing well in the 70s and 80s, and so have my triglycerides (fasting usually below 100). TC (306) and calculated LDL-C (199) are the bad boys. Ratios are ok. Doc wanted to put me on a statin, sight unseen, but I am now…
  • I do. Although my counter is set to 1700 calories, I'm closer to 1800. I started with 1200 calories a day, and was borderline not functional, weak, shaky, dizzy, and anxious. Plus I also did not lose much weight, so add frustrated to the list of descriptive adjectives as well. Thus I increased, and things are moving, slow,…

Since I discovered my very high blood lipid levels, though, I also dropped dairy (except for non-fat plain Greek yogurt), and committed to the rest of the recommendations to help lower cholesterol and LDL. Plant-based seems like a good way to go, not…
  • Thanks for the feedback. Seitan may not work for me, though, unfortunately. Gluten gives me a heap of gas. :/ Isn't it still valid that phytoestrogens are a bad idea if you have estrogen dominance, or thyroid issues? I know the latter has been shown to be of lesser clinical significance, but the former is the reason I have…
