  • Respectfully I don't think you need to worry about macros at this stage. And I would discourage a meal plan as a year is just too long to remain rigid. With best endeavours we would all fail. Instead. Keep it simple. We all know fruit, veg, nuts, seeds are healthy. We can all spot a mile off heavily marinaded proteins. If…
  • I think you are talking about Camille LeBlanc-Bazinet - who is awesome btw!!!! Anyway - your lower tummy is the bottom layer of the brick wall. The first bricks you lay and last you can smash away. Be patient and persevere. Thats what Im telling myself anyway, haha!
  • "you have no bum now" or "you look gaunt"...yeah but Im squatting like buggery and chasing abs dear. PS I do Crossfit haha.
  • I pushed my belly out as far as I could and I swear it was bigger than my pregnant wifes belly LOL
  • Habits are stronger than will power. This might sound like a regurgitated motivational quote (probably is), but really think about it. Do you want to be weighing foods, meal prepping and doing gruelling workouts? If so thats great. Go you, and you'l be sub 200 in no time. I just know as a young father myself that time is…
  • Jan - June 2019. Got some way to go still but enjoying the process
  • You already know this but the scales will fluctuate based on timings, water weight etc.... The mirror never lies. Well done you. Keep it up.
  • I blend up: 1 banana, ~200ml almond milk, ~200ml coconut milk(I dont measure anymore), 1 scoop vegan protein (I use MyProtein Vegan Chocolate) I then smash a handful of almonds to get my fats up. Takes in its entirety to about 4 mins to prep/drink/eat and be on my way Fits my macros and satiates me until lunch. SIMPLES
  • Intermittent Fasting = Skip Breakfast. Thats all :) However you want to achieve a calorie deficit without feeling like you are punishing yourself is the way to go. Best of Luck
  • Thanks for the comments, it actually really helped to just write it down and see others relate. I guess in May when I first posted this thread I felt like I was a ticking time bomb ready obliterate all progress. Since then, I have ditched the food scales and focused on eating mostly clean and how much energy I have in the…
  • Lord have mercy, haha. I would be the exact same. New Job not an option? Do you exercise? If I know I have to exercise after work, I dont want to eat *kitten* before hand as the exercise will hurt so much more...
  • Congratulations on your journey :)
  • Good luck breaking the cycle. Interested to know what your goals and time frames are, and what you need to change this time. I'm asking as a serial starter myself. Im currently in a 6 month good phase so I've either figured this *kitten* out or I'm away to have meltdown, LOL
  • I did keto....and paleo....and intermittent fasting...and basically any popular diet. They are all cyclical because its super restrictive and it will eventually just break your will power and you will rebel. Sounds like what happened to you last time. What makes you think it will be different this time? Through a painful…
  • Apart from the weighing, the constant data entering, the consulting my phone when friends are ordering freely, I just knew tracking is not sustainable. I commend the others that have done it for months / years, but for me its just not a way of life. Anyway, to answer your question: I have ditched the scales and it seems to…
  • You dont need a gym full of machines to become a machine. * Get outside. * Find a bunch of stairs and just get yourself up and down them a few times. Set a goal like 10 times in ten minutes or whatever. * Do as many burpees as you can in 5 minutes * Jog a certain distance without stopping. * Do 50 squats unbroken Small…
  • What do you mean by "the way it works"? If you don't hit your daily fat goal whilst hitting protein and carbs, it just means your in an overall deficit. Might not mean terribly much if you are just trying to lose weight. If you are absolutely needing to hit your targets and fat is the issue - just eat a measured amount of…
  • THIS!!!!!!!!! I eat very frugally all day (keep macros perfect) knowing I can have a big dinner with my family in the evening eating what they eat. I then workout (with a lot of fuel from dinner) in the evening and have a small snack after. Bed. Go again the next day.
  • Great news: Your timeline and goals are totally achievable. You don't need a super restrictive crash diet to be 15/16 stone by Xmas. In fact, that would be terrible advice to suggest dieting. Diets are not sustainable. To reach your goal you only need to lose 1lb/1.5lb per week (or more) to Xmas. What this means is that you…
  • nobody ever got fat from eating fruit. dont stress. As for the sugar, fruits have inherently more fibre so control your blood sugar levels more effectively.
  • Apart from the period problem im the same LOL. Same age, same sleep, same training volume...same yo-yo binges and guilt.... I actually started my own thread on this a few weeks ago and I think even just writing it down helped. I've since dumped the scales (bathroom and kitchen) and gone on my energy levels only. My…
  • 3500 kcal = 1lb Fat. If you are only eating a 100Kcal/day deficit it will take +1 month to lose 1lb. Probably why you have taken to this as you want faster results. Chuck in the fact that you are not accurately weighing / logging your intake and having cheat meals you are definitely eating in a surplus. All that exercise…
  • I battled with this for years...I called my wife "the feeder" and I got chubby. My nickname turned from 'will' to 'fill' (fat-will)... My wife eats what she wants but doesn't put on weight. She pretty much has abs and doesn't train so she was not as motivated as me to change her eating habits. There is hope however!!!!! I…
  • Marie Kondo the *kitten* out your wardrobe
  • This response might spark some heat but as you are new to tracking and have a high body fat percentage, I feel its necessary to bring it back to basics before you start fixating on the numbers or over complicate things. Simply put, and in my coaches words, "just don't eat like an assh*le". This might seem a little…
  • I kept my 40/30/30 split and ate maintenance all week. The only time i would deviate from the plan was ahead of long runs. For that I would carb-load the night before and I would ditch the protein / fat / coffee from my breakfast the morning of the run. The only reason for ditching them was that I found it upset my stomach…
  • That sounds a *kitten* tonne of protein. Its always better to eat real food than dust but if you struggle to hit your targets then go for the shake. Whats your macro percentages?
  • In all honesty what you are doing is not sustainable...even if you see results you will eventually go off track. I've been there and got the t-shirt on isolating myself and separate meals etc...its far too punitive and miserable. The fact is small changes that don't impact your life too dramatically can incrementally over…
  • Thanks for all your comments folks. It seems I'm not the only one :) As my house is always full of children and the snacks they love, its not possible to have a single treat in the cupboard waiting for me to break. Its a cupboard full of them. No need to coach me on parenting here, i regulate their treats vigorously.…
