  • I did a two week high protein liver cleansing diet (like the one pre-op for weight loss surgery). My original goal was to do it for 2 weeks, while checking in daily to see how I felt. I've felt great! so I've kept going - I'm on day 14. I'm tracking what I eat - about 90 g of protein a day and under 50 g of carbs. I'm…
  • Any 5.2 people out there? I'd love to keep this group going.
  • I'd love to hear from some more people trying 5:2. What are some of your go to food choices? I'm trying to make sure I get in veggies, so adding in broccoli and cherry tomatoes. Shrimp seems to be a good choice - fills me up and low in calories. Greek yogurt 120 calories (Chobani Greek, less sugar) is another go to.
  • I started 5:2 this week, Thursday. It went really well. I didn't feel hungry until the evening (and right before heading out to swim for 45 minutes), so ate my dinner (shrimp) early. This did fill me up. Saw I had some carbs left over, so chose to eat 1/4 c of oatmeal over 4 pretzels (would have wanted way more!) and felt…
  • Looking to lose 25-40. Full time working educator in my 60's who needs to be active (or I lose my sanity!). Currently swims - about to join masters swimming (ploy to get a lane). 1200-1300 calorie eating plan (mostly healthy, but I don't judge). Needs to log daily. Feel free to add me.
  • I've been swimming nearly every day for a month and just ordered myself a suit in the next size down. I'm not quite there yet, but I feel quite positive that I will be soon. All my clothes are looser - such a great feeling!
  • I have lost 19 pounds and have another 50 to go. I'm doing 1200 cal and trying to eat 50/30/30 and not so processed foods. I can support any plan that works for you (keto, atkins, or 60/20/40). Former spinning and yoga instructor and have also studied nutrition -- deal with my own eating behaviors and intense/not intense…
  • My name is Sharon and I've been struggling with my highest weight ever for the past 7 years. I'm able to lose 20 lbs or so and then manage to regain it. I did take off 10 pounds in the past year but am wanting to get more focused, as I am having mobility issues. My ideal weight would be 70 lbs lighter, but I know that even…

  • 50 weeks, Keto -- that's amazing! Thanks so much for posting your pictures. 214 on you looks awesome -- not that my opinion should matter!!! -- but inspiring to many, including me, who attach their own"looking a healthy weight" to a specific number on a scale!!! I'm going to try to stop that!! Thank you. You are a rock…
  • Beautiful -- all photos. Thank you for posting - so inspiring, especially that we all deserve to look/feel beautiful in our "before" pics, too. Love your sense of fashion!!
  • Congratulations, girl!! Love you dedication.
  • Swimming 5-6 x per week for 30-45 minutes and covering 3 miles a week. Eating 1200 calories a day, eating a few fun summer foods with earned exercise calories. Enjoying summer!! Hoping to return to school in September, happy, fitter, and 10-15 pounds lighter.
  • I was a member of OTF in CT for close to year and loved it. It's not for the feint of heart - high intensity interval training (targeted to your individual heart rate) in a 60 minute session. These gyms are franchises, so you will have a different experience based upon who owns it, who they hire as trainers, etc. The down…

  • Thanks so much to all of you who shared specifics! It's amazing when you have time to plan your food and exercise that it's a whole lot easier to take care of yourself! I am so grateful to have the summer to work my plan and let my body feel what is and isn't working. @cmriverside - I appreciate hearing that you had to…
  • I was so like you when I was younger!! Now I'm older and having the same issues. If you want a friend with a sense of humor, who is old enough to be your mom - lmk. I'm good for positive feedback and actually know a lot about nutrition - even though I can't always apply what I know to myself!!
  • So beautiful - before and after!! So fit after your hard work at home. What an inspiration you are. Thank you for posting. Love that you enjoyed weight training and did not pursue cardio, by choice - AND, that you did this all at home.
  • So much helpful information, thank you! I have been back and forth for MANY years with both MFP and WW and have also met 1:1 with nutritionists and even studied nutrition. I have so many food "behaviors" (though I'm betting most of us do!) and am now considering weight loss surgery. Getting ready for this decision, I am…
  • Yes, I weaned off of medication after being on them for 10 years. I was at a point where I was eating very "clean" and was within 20 lbs of my ideal weight. At the time I went off the meds, I felt like the meds made me anxious. My doctor supported me in my experiment. Important note: I was initially prescribed meds in my…
  • Thanks for saying hello and for the encouragement! I'm hopeful that I can just stay on this path.
