It does tend to go hand in hand with PCOS but not everyone with PCOS ends up insulin resistant. The only way to really know is to have your doctor do a fasting blood draw and test it. I've heard the double the fat thing but it doesn't make sense to me. If the point is to heal your body or lose weight then the calories have to matter in some way. Just as an example - 50g of protein 100g of fat and 20g or less of carbs is only going to come out to be about 1100 calories. I just can't buy into the idea…

Always glad to know someone else with this insanely weird allergy. So much fun. I can't even touch the stuff without a reaction, let alone eat it. Makes restaurants extra fun too, they love it when I question their cooking methods.

The carbs are heavy, you just have to plan for it. Small portions of the soup as a side dish or make it so that all of your carbs that day come from the soup. It's a pain but I will definitely find a way, I love it too much not to and other than the carbs pumpkin is very healthy.

@genmon00 if you make a basic roux with whatever flour you can use, butter, and unsweetened pea milk then most of the carbs will be from the beans and mushrooms (and onions if you use them)

Check with the manufacturer, they have their own discount program (or, at least they did a couple years ago) so maybe other brands do the same. Restasis did nothing for me until I passed the 6mos. mark on it :(

I constantly remind myself that the "vanity effects" may be slowing down but the health benefits are still adding up.
